Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Release Date
The game is scheduled for a wide release on April 24, 2025, making it only a few weeks out. There have been some hands-on previews for reviews, but there is otherwise no early access. The vast majority of the world will have to wait for the release date, but it is a wide release. It’s not a beta or a game in progress.
Platforms
Like many games nowadays, this is not a platform exclusive. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is going to be available on a few platforms, however, not all of them. It’ll be released on April 24 for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch is not getting a copy. It’s unclear if the Nintendo Switch 2 might someday, but that remains unlikely. It is also not coming to Xbox One or PlayStation 4, as those are firmly in the rear view mirror for the vast majority of new games.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Trailer
The initial trailer for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 gives an incredible glimpse into the new game from Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive. The graphics are on full display, but the story takes center stage. It sets the stage for the grand conflict that is set to take the gaming world by storm this year. A few cutscenes and gameplay moments are shown off as well. There are tons of locales that gamers will explore in this title. The combat was also on full display, showcasing the button-based fighting that players will become intimately familiar with.

The game is an upcoming 2025 role-playing video game (RPG), another entry in a popular genre. Players will “lead the members of Expedition 33 on their quest to destroy the Paintress so that she can never paint death again.” The Paintress paints a number and then can wipe out everyone of that age in the entire world. She does this every year, and every year, a new expedition departs to try and stop her, described as taking a “hopeless expedition.” It is tabbed as an early Game of the Year contender for next year. It was originally announced at Xbox Games Showcase.
