We’re reaching the conclusion of BLAST Open Spring 2025, after an epic pair of Semi-Final matches. Today’s games saw MOUZ go up against Eternal Fire, and Spirit take on the virtually unbeatable Vitality. The result? In tomorrow’s Grand Final, we’re getting a rematch of the ESL Pro League Season 21 Final from earlier this month. Check out how all the action went down below!
MOUZ clinch close Eternal Fire series

Don’t be confused by the 2:0 scoreline: MOUZ vs. Eternal Fire could have gone either way. A spirited comeback from Eternal Fire was cut short on map one right at the death, while map two just saw MOUZ have that slight firepower edge to be able to see this one out in two. It’s a third consecutive Grand Final now for MOUZ, an impressive run by any metric. I had MOUZ as my favorites for this one, although I was disappointed not to see Eternal Fire push it to a third-map decider at a minimum.
Overall, torzsi was by far the most impactful player on the server for MOUZ, his class on the AWP a massive difference-maker in this one. I also really enjoyed what I saw from xertioN (mainly on Dust2). I’ve been a vocal critic of his when it comes to stage matches, but I saw none of the nerves that plagued his gameplay throughout 2024 here. All in all, an excellent day at the office for MOUZ in the BLAST Open Spring 2025 Semi-Finals. Tomorrow, a Final in Lisbon awaits.
Vitality show vulnerability despite Spirit win

Ever since Vitality started this mini period of dominance, many (including myself) have felt that only one team can go toe to toe with them right now: Spirit. This 2:1 match (ending in favor of Vitality) was proof of that. Yes, Vitality have won again, giving themselves the chance to lift a third consecutive trophy. But Spirit definitely could have won this series, and perhaps should have. It was competitive right up until the death, but that aura of invincibility for Vitality remains. I’ll be shocked if they don’t win BLAST Open Spring 2025 and a few more CS2 tournaments afterward for good measure.
This was a series that displayed exactly why ZywOo is the star man for Vitality. Every player on the team went negative, bar their talismanic AWPer. Yet he was able to drag them to a series victory, picking up the pieces even as others struggled. That’s what the truly great Counter-Strike players do, and ZywOo certainly falls into that category.
