How To Do A Landing Roll In AC Shadows (Sometimes Trophy)

Veteran players of the Assassin’s Creed series will know that they’ll be climbing up to high places and there won’t always be a haystack below when they decide to jump. So, players can unlock a mastery skill from Naoe’s Shinobi tree that will help her survive falls from great heights and keep the damage to a minimum. Another great aspect of unlocking this skill is that players will immediately unlock the Sometimes trophy. Here’s how to do it.

How to Unlock the Landing Roll Ability for Naoe in AC Shadows

Unlocking the Igan Roll Ability AC Shadows

If you often find yourself climbing and then jumping off high places in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, unlocking the Igan Roll ability for Naoe should be a priority. Players can unlock this ability by going into the Shinobi skill tree and spending one mastery point on the Igan Roll ability on the far right.

The landing roll ability (Igan Roll) can only be unlocked for Naoe, as Yasuke is too bulky to go climbing up to great heights, let alone jumping off them.

The Igan Roll requires Knowledge Rank 2, so you won’t be able to unlock it if you’re still in the early sections of the game. To upgrade your Knowledge Rank, you’ll have to start completing side activities marked with an orange hexagon. These activities include.

  • Hidden Trails
  • Temples
  • Shrines
  • Kuji-Kiri
  • Horse Archery
  • Kata
  • Kofun

You’ll have to grind the side activities mentioned above to gain 1 Knowledge Point per completion. Accumulating enough knowledge points will upgrade your Knowledge Rank to the next level in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Once you’ve unlocked the Igan Roll ability, simply go to a high place and jump off. As you’re falling, hold the “dodge” button, and Naoe will roll her body as she touches the ground, breaking her fall and surviving the jump. The dodge button is the “B” button for Xbox, the “O” button for PlayStation, and the “ALT” key for keyboard.

Once you do this, a pop-up will be displayed on your screen indicating that you’ve unlocked the “Sometimes” trophy. Now you have a useful ability unlocked, and you are one step closer to unlocking all the trophies in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
