Assassin’s Creed Shadows has some challenging activities in store for players who want to put their combat skills to the test. One of these activities is the Tournament Side Quest by Gyoji, who invites players to his temple to participate in a fighting ring. The quest involves either Naoe or Yasuke facing off against some of the strongest opponents in the game, one after another. Players must have the best gear equipped to have a chance of surviving and completing this quest.

Junjiro will visit Naoe and ask her if he could stay at the hideout; players can either allow him to stay or ask him to leave in AC Shadows.

How to Start the Tournament Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Players can start the Tournament quest by talking to Gyoji outside the Hideout in the Izumi Settsu region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Gyoji will explain how he used to run a lucrative tournament in his temple, but now its control has been seized by a band of formidable warriors.

These warriors have been using the tournament as a way to execute their enemies. So, it’s up to Yasuke or Naoe to defeat these foes and get control back to Gyoji to organize these tournaments. After the conversation, players must travel to the Ominesanji Temple, in the Yoshino area of Yamato, to participate in the tournament.

Players will need to eliminate/spare at least 7 Shinbakufu members to spawn Gyoji outside the Hideout.

All Opponents in the Tournament Fighters & Rewards for Defeating Them

After reaching the Ominesanji Temple in Yamato and talking to Gyoji in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players will be introduced to all the warriors participating in the tournament. You’ll need to take down all five warriors to complete the Tournament quest. After defeating one warrior, players will have to ring the bell to spawn the next opponent.

It’s recommended to participate in the tournament with Yasuke, as he’s more specialized in combat than Naoe. However, a skilled Naoe player can easily take the victory if they have a proper build set up.
