Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Nochiseyama Castle Exploration Guide
Nochiseyama Castle boasts a strong weapon for Naoe in its Legendary Chest.
One of the types of locations spread throughout AC: Shadows are shrines. These shrines represent religious sites for the locals, and some truly impressive architecture and landscaping to go along with it. There are 27 shrines total, and if you’re looking to find them all, we’ve got you covered.
What Are Shrines?
Each shrine in AC: Shadows has multiple prayer locations; visiting and praying at each one is going to complete that shrine for you and award you one Knowledge Point. These Knowledge Points play a key role in advancing Naoe and Yasuke’s skills, making Shrines a great way to keep each character competent.
Every Shrine In Izumi Settsu
There are two shrines in Azumi Settsu, both located near the western coast of the region. This is the lowest-level region in the game, making it easy to traverse through to gather the shrines, regardless of your level.

Every Shrine In Harima
There are four shrines in Harima, with three of the four on the southern coast. The outlier here is the Kaya Shrine, which is located on Mount Kasagata. Harima is a level 23 region, so traversing through here until you’re mid-level can be dangerous.

This shrine is heavily guarded, and being seen here is considered trespassing. It’s located in the Kakogawa Estate, on the southernmost portion of Harima and to the west of Amagasaki. |
Kaya Shrine |
This shrine is on the western side of Mount Kasagata, and slightly northwest of Inariyama Watchtower. |
Every Shrine In Yamashiro

Genbao Fort is small, with only two Samurai Daisho patrolling its courtyards.
Every Shrine In Tamba
Tamba only has two shrines; one in the northwest corner, and one on the east-central side. Tamba is a very high-level area, and if you’re looking to get Knowledge Points early, we’d recommend staying on your horse until you’re at the shrine to avoid any fights.

Atago Shrine |
This shrine is directly west of the Arashiyama Cascades viewpoint, and northeast of the Kameyama Tenshu viewpoint. |

Every Shrine In Wakasa
Wakasa is a large region, but it only contains two shrines. One of those is fairly secluded in a northern peninsula, with the second almost directly center of the region. Wakasa is another fairly high-level area, and has some difficult-to-traverse terrain.
With only two shrines, there are easier locations to head for knowledge points towards the beginning of the game.

Jogu Shrine |
This shrine is located further up the coast from the Sotomo Gate, and southwest of the Tsuruga Port Overlook. |
Wakasahiko Shrine |
This shrine is south of Obama, and north of the Onyu Pass, nestled in between the two rivers in the area. |
Every Shrine In Omi
Omi is another huge region with only a couple of shrines. These shrines are on opposite sides of Lake Biwa, with one on the western coast and the other on the northeastern coast. Omi is a medium-level area, and while it’s extremely big, much of that area is taken up by Lake Biwa.
It’s easy enough to avoid fights here, and there’s a lot going on, making it a good exploration destination, even if you aren’t quite a high-enough level.

Shirahige Shrine |

Iga is a very small region, but it does contain two shrines. Both shrines are very close to one another, in the northern section of the region. Niukawakami Shrine |
This shrine is just north of Yoshino, but south of the river dividing that Takatori. |

This shrine is north of the Omiwa Shrine, and slightly southeast of the Todaiji Temple. |
Hinode Shrine |
This shrine is quite close to the last shrine, and slightly northeast of the Todaiji Temple. |
Every Shrine In Kii
Kii is the busiest region when it comes to shrines. This area is home to six different shrines; none of these shrines are on the western portion of the region, with the first starting near the center, and the rest criss-crossing north and south all the way to the eastern coast.
Kii is a very high-level area, and has a mix of terrain styles. You’ll definitely need to avoid fights here if you aren’t high-level, but because of the number of shrines around, it’s a good place to go to get early Knowledge Points, as long as you’re careful.
