Summary
- Crafty Stardew Valley player marries multiple NPCs without mods or divorce
- Method involves multiplayer mode and creating extra farmhands for each NPC
- Player receives praise for creativity and commitment to unique gameplay in the community
A Stardew Valley player has come up with a clever method to marry multiple NPCs in the game without having to get divorced. The no-mod technique is one that few players may have thought of, but for those who want to have a big family in Stardew Valley, this may be the ticket.
Stardew Valley allows players to marry one person under ordinary circumstances. Players who don’t want to be married anymore can get divorced and then re-marry as they see fit. Despite this limit, some players have utilized mods to do things like marry every NPC in Stardew Valley. While this player’s efforts aren’t quite as extreme, it does showcase a bit of creativity.

On Reddit, Stardew Valley player IrysSolanum has shared their commitment to marrying their favorite NPCs by using a clever strategy. To avoid being limited by the standard marriage rules, IrysSolanum ran the game in multiplayer mode, and created three additional farmhands. They then used their main character and those extra farmhands to marry one NPC each, except for Krobus, who became a roommate. In the end, they showcase a screenshot of their main character standing in front of NPC portraits, which can normally only be acquired after marrying or becoming roommates with an NPC. In all, they tied the knot with Emily, Sebastian, and Abigail. The OP notes that their method used no mods, but they do admit to using a glitch to make getting the mermaid pendants a bit easier.
Stardew Valley Players Impressed by Commitment
IrysSolanum initially framed their post as saying that they might be insane for having done this. However, it seems that a lot of players admire the commitment and effort put into making this happen. The OP has especially received praise for figuring out a method of doing this without using Stardew Valley mods. One fellow fan suggested that this might be a way to keep the game interesting for those who may have burned out on the title’s standard gameplay.
While there’s a lot to explore and enjoy in Stardew Valley, a lot of players end up creating multiple saves or replaying the title simply because of their spousal choices. Some fans don’t think twice about divorcing a Stardew Valley spouse they’ve grown tired of, but others grow fond enough of them that they don’t want to see the relationship soured. In IrysSolanum’s case, it seems they’re already thinking about future playthroughs, as they’ve mentioned the poly marriage mod and want to try marrying every single person they can in their next save file.
