Assassin’s Creed Shadows puts players in a position where they’ll have to make a choice that can potentially alter the course of the story or certain events. Although these choices give the illusion of control to the players, most of them don’t change anything when it comes to the narrative of the game. One of these choices happens early on in the game when Junjiro visits Naoe at the Hideout with Sorin, and asks to stay with her. Let’s explore the outcomes of both choices here.

Should You Let Junjiro Stay or Ask Him to Leave in AC Shadows?
After getting attacked by the Onryo at the beginning of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Sorin takes a wounded Naoe into the Makinoodera Temple, where he nurses her back to health with the help of Junjiro.
After arriving at the Hideout to meet Tomiko, Naoe receives a visit from Sorin, who is going on a pilgrimage, and asks Naoe to look after Junjiro. This is one of the first choices in the game, where players can either let Junjiro stay with Naoe or ask him to leave.
What Happens if You Reply, “You Can Stay, Junjiro?”
If players choose the “you can stay, Junjiro” option, he’ll be overjoyed by Naoe’s decision and quickly rush into the Hideout. Tomiko will ask Naoe if they’re taking up strays now. Regardless, Junjiro will become the first silent ally of the league Naoe will create henceforth.
What Happens if You Reply “This is No Place for a Child?”
If players choose the “this is no place for a child” option, Naoe will refuse Junjiro’s request and tell him that this is not a temple or a hidden place that’s safe from danger. So, this could put Junjiro at risk, and therefore he shouldn’t stay with Naoe and Tomiko at the Hideout. However, Sorin will argue with Naoe’s answer that it isn’t safe anywhere, but at least Junjiro gets to be with her.
So, despite asking Junjiro to leave, he’ll still end up staying with Naoe at the hideout. Regardless of your decision at this moment, there won’t be any repercussions in the narrative later on. However, this goes to show how several choices in Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have a fixed outcome, and that won’t change regardless of your decision.
