Monster Hunter Wilds has undoubtedly become one of the most accessible entries in the franchise, primarily due to the many changes made to ensure that it appeals to everyone, even those who have never played any of the previous titles. The new ways to traverse and engage in combat have certainly helped with the game’s ever-increasing popularity, and the larger environments help emphasize how great and effective they are. Still, the more expansive playing fields have caused Monster Hunter Wilds players to wish for a feature to return from Monster Hunter Rise, one that the game’s two important aspects would have definitely benefited from.
The larger areas of Monster Hunter Wilds incentivize players to explore, given that they contain more resources to gather and opportunities to encounter monsters compared to past entries. Because of that, one cannot help but wonder why a feature from the previous game, Wirebugs, did not return, as it would have definitely expanded the game’s traversal and combat options while emphasizing the grandness of the new environments. Couple that with the introduction of the Seikret and its capabilities, and it’s likely Monster Hunter Wilds would have had the best mobility and exploration of all the entries in the franchise. It could still be added in a future update, but only if Capcom chooses to see the potential of what it can bring.
Why Wirebugs Should Return to Monster Hunter Wilds
Considering that Wirebugs are a feature that Monster Hunter Wilds players miss, it’s likely to be welcomed as soon as it’s reintroduced. Capcom should give some serious thought to bringing it back, as there are many things it could do for the latest entry in the franchise:
- It allows players more movement options that can be both practical and stylish, greatly enhancing their overall traveling experience.
- It incentivizes players to look at their surroundings for Wirebug opportunities, making them more engaged while also allowing them to appreciate the designs of the environments they’re in.
- It gives players a reason to go on foot instead of always relying on the Seikret to move from one point to another, providing them with more freedom in how they would like to explore.
Among the many features introduced in all the Monster Hunger games, Wirebugs were one that players highly appreciated because of how exciting and beneficial it was to use. Monster Hunter Wilds has built a strong case for its return, and hopefully, Capcom will reintroduce it in a future update, as it would certainly elevate the game in more ways than one.
How Wirebugs Can Also Be Used To Improve Monster Hunter Wilds’ Combat
Aside from allowing for better exploration, Wirebugs provide more movement and attack options during combat, thus allowing battles to feel more fluid and non-static. Using and mastering it well could aid in taking down a monster quicker, and it’s not something players necessarily need to do, ensuring that it’s non-invasive to the overall gameplay. Reintroducing it would enhance the hunting experience significantly, and make for a good reason to bring back one of the things from Monster Hunter Rise that players think should be added to Monster Hunter Wilds: Wyvern Riding. Being able to ride a massive beast and having almost total control over it temporarily is something many would likely enjoy, but can only happen if Wirebugs were to return, strengthening its case for being included in a future update.
Bringing back Wirebugs could turn even the deadliest and largest monsters of Monster Hunter Wilds into hunts that people look forward to facing, regardless of the difficulty, and the addition of Mizutsune could be the spark needed for the feature to come back. With its benefits being too hard to ignore and the number of people who would be happy to use it again, there’s a chance that Capcom may just consider it in a future update.
