The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie is one of Marvel Studios’ big releases this year, with the popular superhero group finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe on July 25, 2025. It’s a highly-anticipated film, and the trailer left many people excited about what the characters will bring to the franchise and how they will influence it moving forward. Joseph Quinn is going to be a big part of that as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, but it isn’t just in The Fantastic Four: First Steps where audiences are going to see him.
Quinn was part of the recent Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement, which featured a plethora of characters, both old and new, within the MCU. All of the Fantastic Four members are going to be part of the film, but Quinn is hoping that he will end up running into a forgotten MCU star who hasn’t been seen in the franchise for quite a while.

One Thing Is Clear After The Avengers: Doomsday Cast Announcement: Marvel Has A Female Problem
Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement highlighted the female problem the franchise has.
Quinn spoke to IGN about being announced in the cast for Avengers: Doomsday, saying, “It was a relief, I suppose. It was a nice thing.” But then he revealed, “I think I’m in very good company. I would love to see Will (Poulter) there, too, just because we have a laugh. But the road is long in this Marvel lad, so God willing, because it would be fun.”
Poulter plays Adam Warlock in the MCU, having previously appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, he hasn’t been seen in the franchise since that movie came out, although Poulter has made it publicly known that he would be open to reprising the role in the future and also teased the idea of working with Quinn. Warlock ended that movie in a new Guardians lineup, which opened up the possibility of that specific franchise continuing, but at this point, there have been no confirmed plans for any future Guardians of the Galaxy plans outside of Marvel claiming that Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord will return at some stage.
No Guardians of the Galaxy actors were announced in the cast for Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s unlikely any will be appearing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Therefore, any potential crossover between Quinn and Poulter will have to wait for a future project. However, it has been teased that Marvel will make more announcements for the cast of Avengers: Doomsday in the future, so there is still scope for Poulter to end up being included in the blockbuster movie.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to play a huge role in the future of the MCU, and there’s no shortage of characters involved. However, the fact that Robert Downey Jr is playing Doctor Doom has made people wonder just how big a role the Fantastic Four will have. Considering he is typically their main villain, there’s a good chance that Quinn and his fellow cast members are going to have significant roles. There is also a chance that Marvel will use The Fantastic Four: First Steps to tease or even introduce Downey Jr’s version of Doom ahead of Avengers: Doomsday to set the scene.
