“What, Because Youer Mam Dropped Dead?”
Mr Drippy, Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch
Mr Drippy is easily the best character in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Alongside being Oliver’s companion on his journey, he provides comic relief, and also helps Oliver be more grounded. At the beginning of the game, Oliver’s mother tragically dies, so, naturally, Oliver is more than upset about this.
Oliver tells Mr Drippy that he feels as much and doesn’t want to come to the parallel world with him, and Mr Drippy responds, “What? Because youer mam dropped dead?” The combination of his strong Welsh accent and the bluntness of his statement make this quote utterly memorable and bizarrely funny.

“Onward To The Butthole Of Salvation!”
Gallica, Metaphor: ReFantazio
Towards the beginning of Will and the party’s journey in Metaphor: ReFantazio, they find themselves trapped inside a giant worm. You know, average Tuesday. To escape, they must go through the creature’s digestive system and out the other end, which leads to this glorious line from Gallica: “Onward to the butthole of salvation!”
The entire situation is absurd, but the humour is great and lets you see a sillier side to Will, Strohl, Hulkenburg, and Gallica, as the story up until this point has been fairly serious.

“I Feel My Inner Emo Stirring… Must… Fight… Emo… Urges…”
Neku, The World Ends With You
At the beginning of The World Ends With You, the protagonist, Neku, is a reserved teenager and, frankly, a bit rude – he doesn’t want to speak to others and prefers to keep to himself. His cool and serious personality makes the fact that he says “I feel my inner emo stirring… Must… fight… emo… urges…” even funnier.
It’s easy to imagine Neku listening to 2000s emo music in his iconic headphones, though he probably wouldn’t be a full-fledged emo, since he prefers to wear sporty clothes.

“What About Babies? You Guys Got Any Babies?”
Eunie, Xenoblade Chronicles 3
In the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the characters are stuck in a cycle of war, doomed to be reborn again and again. Because of this, they don’t know about… um… the birds and the bees. When the party reaches the City, however, they learn about how humans are supposed to live and have children.
After this revelation, Eunie in particular is fascinated by babies. When she and the party are later talking to Gray, who has a partner, she asks him, “What about babies? You got any babies?” The straightforward nature of her question is hilarious, but her genuine curiosity is endearing at the same time.

“Say Fuzzy Pickles!”
The Camera Man, EarthBound
Throughout your adventure in EarthBound, you’ll meet the Camera Man in various locations. Whenever he takes a photograph of you and your party, he’ll ask you to say “fuzzy pickles”.
What makes this quote silly, however, is the fact that, when you have your photo taken, it’s possible for members of your party to be dead and appear as angels in the photo itself. Ness looks a bit too cheerful saying “fuzzy pickles” when his friends have one foot in the afterlife just behind him…

“Such A Sweet, Simple Boy…”
Sylvando, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes Of An Elusive Age
Dragon Quest 11 has a lot of funny moments and silly quotes, but an unexpected one is when Hendrik realises that Sylvando is the son of Don Rodrigo. When Hendrik finally puts the clues together, Sylvando says to him, “Such a sweet, simple boy…”

This line alone is memorable, but what cements the scene as being hilarious is Hendrik’s reaction to this. The scene zooms in on Hendrik’s face, and then he screams and holds his hand to his head while lightning strikes. It’s extremely dramatic and one of the funniest moments in the game.

“Mickey! It’s Riku. They Put Bugs In Him!”
Sora, Kingdom Hearts Coded
The Kingdom Hearts series is full of quotes that sound silly out of context, but none is more infamous than Sora exclaiming, “Mickey! It’s Riku. They put bugs in him!” in Kingdom Hearts Coded.
What makes this scene even funnier is Mickey’s reaction – he just says “What?” but the Mickey Mouse voice makes it impossible not to laugh at this scene. While Coded isn’t a fan-favourite game in the series, this quote alone makes it iconic and memorable.
Honourable mention goes to Sora saying “Sorry mommy, but your poopsies are toast!” to Ursula in Kingdom Hearts 2.

“Me? Gongaga.”
Zack, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7
Even if you’re not a fan of Final Fantasy 7 or Zack, you’ve probably seen or heard of the “Me? Gongaga.” meme. In context, Zack is being asked where he’s from, but the way he responds just sounds nonsensical when you cut out the question.
This quote is so beloved that fans were anticipating whether it would make it into the remake, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. Fans’ prayers were answered, as the scene is faithfully recreated, and “Me? Gongaga.” is just as funny as it was in 2007.
