7

Lady Tamayo

An Ally Demon

Lady Tamayo was a major player in the final arc of Demon Slayer, as she, alongside Shinobu, developed the drug that would hinder the power of the Demon King. Lady Tamayo was the one who bravely injected Muzan with this drug, however, this would seal her fate.

During her last moments, she pleads with Muzan to give back her children and husband before he proceeds to crush her skull. Tamayo’s sacrifice was essential to defeating Muzan and the final arc would have been vastly different without her aid to the Hashira by weakening Muzan significantly. Her death deeply affected her companion, Yoshiro.

6

Gyomei

The Stone Hashira

  • Killed By: Demon Slayer Mark, Muzan

Gyomei is a character that fought quite a lot in the final arc. Firstly, he took on Kokushibo, the Upper Rank 1 who is only second to Muzan. And after that, he moved on to Muzan himself. Gyomei was one of the major fighters during this battle and was able to greatly assist the other Hashira whenever needed.

Gyomei, sadly, died after Muzan’s defeat. The cause of his death was never fully confirmed, but it can be summarized as him having activated his Demon Slayer Mark against Kokushibo, and being over the age of 25, as well as the deadly injuries he sustained from his fight against Muzan.

5

Obanai

The Serpent Hashira

The Serpent Hashira was a major fighter against Muzan the Demon King during the final arc of Demon Slayer. Obanai fought relentlessly, even after losing his eyesight to Muzan. After stalling the Demon King until sunrise and managing to stop him from escaping, Obanai was finally able to rest, with Mitsuri in his arms. They both died together after their mission was accomplished.

4

Mitsuri

The Love Hashira

Mitsuri is the Love Hashira and made it very deep into the final arc of Demon Slayer. She first faced Nakime before reaching the Demon King Muzan, with the rest of the surviving Hashira.

Mitsuri is a powerful character, but she was heavily incapacitated against the Demon King Muzan. Muzan injured her so heavily that she had to step out of the fight for some time before eventually returning and ripping his arms off. She eventually succumbed to her wounds after the fight concluded.

3

Genya

Sanemi’s Brother

Genya is a Demon Slayer who is unable to use any Breathing Style, despite his brother Sanemi being a talented Hashira, the Wind Hashira, to be specific. Genya, however, has an interesting power he can make use of, as he is able to consume demons and gain some of their powers. During this arc, Genya comes face to face with Kokushibo, the Upper Rank 1, who is an extremely powerful demon.

Genya does not face this demon alone, but even then, ends up sustaining deadly injuries. He is able to stay alive for long enough to help the others by consuming parts of Kokushibo, notably his hair and a piece of his sword. Genya was still able to help the Hashira in the fight before vanishing into thin air, just like a demon.

2

Muichiro

The Mist Hashira

Muichiro is the youngest of the Hashira, holding the title of Mist Hashira. This young Hashira met a shocking end during the final arc of Demon Slayer where he faced his own ancestor, Kokushibo. Kokushibo was the Upper Rank 1 demon, a demon only second to Muzan in power.

Muichiro had no chance of winning this fight alone, and had the help of Genya, Sanemi, and Gyomei. But even with all that, he ended up dying gruesomely as Kokushibo chopped up his limbs and other parts of his body. Muichiro was still of huge aid during this fight as he activated his red blade on Kokushibo.

1

Shinobu Kocho

The Insect Hashira

One of the most shocking deaths that occurs during the final arc is that of Shinobu Kocho, the holder of the title of Insect Hashira. She comes face to face with the one who killed her older sister Kanae, Doma, the Upper Rank 2 Demon.

Shinobu fights to the best of her capacities against Doma, but due to her weak strength, she is unable to behead him. Doma ends up killing her and consuming her body, which leads to his downfall as her body contains large amounts of poison.
