Don’t miss the official release date trailer for the remaster of the classic platforming game Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.
It’s been confirmed by PSN Profiles that Croc: Legends of the Gobbos will not have a Platinum trophy when it releases on PS4 and PS5 this coming Wednesday, April 2. It’s unclear exactly why that it is, but it’s disappointing news, to say the least. It’s possible that part of the reason is how short Croc is (100% completion is easily obtainable in less than 10 hours), but there are other short games with Platinum trophies.

This may be disappointing news, but for fans of classic 3D platformers, it’s unlikely to be a deal-breaker. 3D platformer fans have been looking forward to the Croc remaster for months, with many disappointed when the game was delayed from December 2024 to its new date of April 2. The good news is that the wait is nearly at an end, and so nostalgic fans will soon have the chance to revisit Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.
If Croc: Legend of the Gobbos sells well enough, one has to imagine that a remaster of the sequel is on the table. A Croc 2 remaster would mean that nearly the entire franchise would be playable on modern hardware, minus the Croc Game Boy Color games, which remain exclusive to the handheld. Those interested in picking up the remaster should note that there’s a Croc Collector’s Edition available as well.
In the meantime, fans of classic 3D platformers will also want to keep an eye on this summer. The Gex Trilogy is set to launch in coming months, giving fans the chance to replay the original side-scroller as well as its 3D platformer sequels.
