As players of Helldivers 2 continue to work towards the goal of galactic freedom, so too is Arrowhead by providing content that will aid in their efforts. The studio has recently released Helldivers 2‘s Borderline Justice Warbond, which offers powerful equipment that one would expect from content that requires purchasing with Super Credits. While its weapons and cosmetics are the main features, what is truly intriguing is its western cowboy theme. Because of how great it’s seemingly doing, Arrowhead may want to consider a particular move that may find the same success or even more.
Helldivers 2‘s Borderline Justice Warbond has shown that the western cowboy theme is popular among the game’s fans, presenting Arrowhead with an opportunity. The developer could work towards doing a crossover with Red Dead Redemption, a popular title by Rockstar Games whose entire theme and narrative revolves around the Wild West period. If it were to happen, the move would certainly attract the attention of many while also producing content for Helldivers 2 that may help enhance its overall quality.

It seems more and more gamers are hoping PlayStation’s multiplayer hit Helldivers 2 makes its way to Xbox consoles as a popular petition grows.
What a Potential Helldivers 2 x Red Dead Redemption Crossover Could Look Like
Much like when Helldivers 2 did a crossover with Killzone, one might expect a crossover with Red Dead Redemption to provide the game with many interesting pieces of content. Such content could feasibly include:
- Helmets, body armor, and capes that resemble some of the ones players would be able to obtain in Red Dead Redemption or its sequel
- Players cards and titles with names and designs that can be based on what one would have found in Red Dead Redemption‘s online multiplayer and the series’ world
- Weapons that resemble the best guns in Red Dead Redemption, such as ones that could look similar to the Mauser Pistol or Henry Repeater
While the work towards guaranteeing a crossover with Red Dead Redemption may be difficult, especially when considering if Rockstar Games might even be against the idea, it would still be a worthwhile effort for Arrowhead.
How the Potential Red Dead Redemption Crossover Could Be Taken a Step Further Than What Players Would Have Expected
If a potential crossover did happen, Arrowhead could always choose to follow the steps it took with the one Helldivers 2 did with Killzone. However, the developer could take the idea further, with a good way to do that being to add skins that could completely change the look of certain in-game transportation. For example, Helldivers 2‘s Fast Recon Vehicle could be given a cosmetic that alters it to look like what one would find during the period in which Red Dead Redemption 2 took place—though a carriage pulled by horses in space may be a tough pill to swallow in terms of immersion.
A crossover with Red Dead Redemption may not have made it onto many players’ wish lists or expectations for Helldivers 2 in 2025, but the Borderline Justice motif certainly makes a case for such a crossover to occur, regardless of how unlikely it may be to come to fruition. Either way, it will be interesting to see if more comes from this outlaw gunslinger theme in Helldivers 2 in the future.
