You can finally find this volcano in the Atocpan region, and Investigator of Ancient Ruins is a side quest that gives you some more information on it.

You’ll randomly trigger this quest as you’re going through Atocpan, and in it, a couple of NPCs will ask you to clear the Abyssal Monsters inside a specific ruin. Here’s how you can easily find these monsters and beat the quest.
How To Start Investigator Of Ancient Ruins Quest
To start the Investigator of Ancient Ruins quest, you’ll first have to reach the Natlan region of Teyvat, which can be found at the bottom left of the Sumeru Desert. On the southwestern side of this region, you’ll find the Atocpan area where this quest and the ruins required for it exist.
Once you’ve uncovered the map of Atocpan by activating the Statue, you’ll see a waypoint below where Fallingstar Fields area is written on the map. Get close to this waypoint and you’ll automatically trigger this quest. Defeat a couple of Hilichurls to trigger its next part.
How To Find And Defeat The Abyssal Monsters
Once you take this quest from Kimosi and Nzaya, they’ll ask you to enter the ancient ruins and defeat the Abyssal Monsters within. However, when you get close to the big main entrance, it closes itself. You can find an alternate path to get inside these ruins from the slope going up on the left side of the entrance.
Follow this slope and defeat a few more Hilichurls at the top to see the entrance with a Pyroculus in the middle. Jump down this hole and you can first interact with the nearby mechanism at the bottom to open up the entrance that closed earlier.
After that, defeat a few more Hilichurls in the main room of the ruins and you’ll see a stack of exquisite chests. Before you interact with them, make sure you have your best Natlan team ready. This is because the chests will spawn multiple Abyssal enemies and Rifthounds that you have to defeat.
These enemies will come in three waves. The first will be a single Abyssal enemy followed by a few Rifthounds and then two more Abyssal enemies. Once you defeat all of them, you can head back to the quest-givers to finish this quest and get 30 Primogems among other rewards.
