Everything changed when Goto Ryuji challenged Sung Jinwoo, surprised by his speed. Considered Japan’s greatest hunter, Goto took great pride in his strength, so he was shocked when Jinwoo appeared to have answers for all his tricks. Sung not only went toe-to-toe against the hunter but forced him to take the sparring session seriously with each passing moment.

Goto appeared mesmerized by Jinwoo’s intimidating power, and despite trying his best, he failed to overwhelm his adversary. He was eventually frustrated to the point that he even decided to go for the kill, but the battle was luckily cut short by the other hunters there, or Ryuji might have walked away with a serious injury. In spite of the stoppage, Goto and Jinwoo’s fight was quite intense.

Ruler of the 50th floor of Demon Castle, Vulcan was an S-Ranked demon gifted with supernatural powers and incredible strength. When Sung Jinwoo arrived on the floor and saw his adversary, he failed to realize how agile the demon was despite being so tall and overweight.

The battle that ensued was intense, and although Jinwoo won, it was not as easy as he had initially anticipated, as Vulcan put up a strong fight and displayed an impressive blend of size and speed.

Jinwoo Rescues The Hunters Guild’s Raid Party

When the Hunters Guild’s A-Rank raid party was cornered by the high orc shaman Kargalgan and his minions, Jinwoo was with them at the time. The boss of the Hunters Guild Gate wanted to play with the hunters for entertainment before he slaughtered every last one of them.

Before Kargalgan could put his sadistic plans into action, Sung Jinwoo confronted him. Not realizing the extent of his powers, the high orc shaman attacked but failed to land a single blow on his adversary. It soon became evident to Kargalgan that Jinwoo was no ordinary human, and despite having an army of high orcs at his side, he appeared helpless. The fight was one-sided but was perhaps one of the best in the series, as it was one of the first occasions that Sung’s powers were on full display for so many other hunters to see.

Ever since Sung Jinwoo became a hunter, he has always prioritized his family over his own life. So, when he learned that he could cure his mother’s eternal slumber and wake her up from her coma, he naturally prioritized getting his hands on the elusive potion called the Holy Water of Life.

However, getting his hands on the ingredients was no easy task, as he had to conquer the S-Rank instant dungeon called Demon Castle. On its final floor, Sung Jinwoo fought Baran, the Monarch of White Flames. Unlike most of his enemies, Baran was no pushover. He forced Jinwoo to push his limits and even managed to surprise him with a few of his attacks. The battle was intense, with each moment filled with well-planned attacks, strategic counters, and anxious anticipation.

In the Red Gate arc, Sung Jinwoo and a few other low-ranked hunters were abandoned after getting stuck in a dungeon. With death waiting for them at every turn, Jinwoo took it upon himself to keep the people in his group safe, while all the hunters under Kim Chul’s leadership died a brutal death.

Although Sung was confident against most magic beasts he encountered in the Red Gate dungeon, when he was eventually confronted by the dungeon boss, Baruka, he now faced an uphill battle against an enemy more powerful than him. Jinwoo cunningly sought Igris’ help, but even then, victory seemed to be beyond his grasp.

There are very few moments in the series when Jinwoo appears less than fully confident of victory, and this was one of those instances that pushed him to evolve. Baruka’s overwhelming power and desire for dominance made Jinwoo’s victory that much more hard-earned and satisfying.

On the surface, the strategy seemed perfect, but when the Korean and Japanese hunters reached the forsaken island, they were greeted by an intimidating enemy whose presence alone made them freeze with fear. As one hunter after another was slaughtered like an insect, Sung Jinwoo sensed that the raid party desperately needed his help. The circumstances set the stage for an epic clash between Sung Jinwoo and Ant King, with the lives of millions of people on the line.

From the hype to the final clash, everything was perfectly executed to make this battle between two powerful adversaries an unforgettable spectacle of strategy and power. Although there were many good fights in the second season of Solo Leveling, none could match the intensity of Sung Jinwoo fighting it out with the Ant King.
