Much of the fun with the Pokemon Trading Card Game is seeing all your favorite Pokemon with their trainers, which is why sets like Journey Together are an absolute delight for players and collectors alike. Many of the cards in this set are from the Japanese Battle Partners set, though some cards are from other collections.

Much of the appeal of Journey Together are the Trainer’s Pokemon (formerly Owner’s Pokemon), cards that feature a trainer’s name associated with the card. These cards often feature the trainer hanging out or battling with their Pokemon, adding to the lore around these characters and building out the Pokemon World. If you’re picking up a few packs or want to build a new deck, these ex Pokemon will give your decks some power.

Dudunsparce ex
Drawin’ Cards
Dudunsparce ex might be a bit of a tech pick since it isn’t the greatest ex card around, but it adds a bit of utility to your deck building. Dudunsparce from Prismatic Evolutions has the potential to see some more play, given its ability to draw some bonus cards each turn, while Journey Together’s iteration can dish out a good amount of damage.
Its Tenacious Tail attack deals 60 damage times the number of ex Pokemon your opponent controls, so against a full board, you can reach 360 damage with one Colorless Energy.
9
Amoonguss ex
Are You Feelin’ Lucky?
This Stage 1 Pokemon doesn’t have any fancy abilities or a partially strong attack, but if you’re lucky enough, you can still dish out a huge amount of damage for very little Energy. Spore Ball is a one Energy attack that deals just 30 damage but is guaranteed to put your opponent’s Active Pokemon to sleep.
Now that they’re asleep, you can bust out the Mushroom Swing, which deals 100 damage at the base level, and if you win a coin flip, you’ll add an extra 80 damage on top of that.

Iono’s Bellibolt ex
A Fan Favorite
It might not be a powerhouse in the Pokemon Trading Card Game’s meta, but Iono’s Bellibolt ex is bound to see at least a little bit of play thanks to its ability, a solid attack, and the Iono popularity boost.

The Japanese Pokemon TCG set Heatwave Arena has some cool chase cards to collect and we gathered them all in once place just for you.
Iono is an incredibly popular character in the Pokemon games, both in the video games and the TCG. With Journey Together bringing in a ton of Iono cards, Bellibolt ex will undoubtedly find a spot. Especially since the Electric Streamer ability lets you power up your other Iono’s Pokemon by adding bonus Energy from your hand to your other Iono’s Pokemon in play.

Paldean Clodsire ex
Down For The Count
While you might think of Clodsire as being a Poison and Ground-type Pokemon, the Journey Together version brings you a new Darkness-type iteration, one that still makes plenty of use of the Poison elements of the cute Pokemon.
With two attacks, Clodsire can Poison your opponent’s Active Pokemon with its Poison Ring attack, dealing 60 damage and making sure they can’t retreat all at the same time. Then you can deal a huge 220 damage Giga Impact for just one Energy more.
6
Mamoswine ex
Everything Is Just In Reach
A bit of a situational powerhouse while in play, Mamoswine ex can dish out a lot of damage under the right conditions while giving you a perfect way to set it all up. The smackdown starts with its ability, Mammoth Hauler, which lets you search your deck for a Pokemon card and put it in your hand.
Then, with the two Fighting Energy Rumbling March attack, you deal 180 damage at the base level, which is already pretty solid, and then deal 40 more damage for each Stage 2 Pokemon on your Bench. Getting it to higher levels of damage might be a bit harder, but it can benefit your damage output.
5
Volcanion ex
A Burning Power
While not the most impressive ex Pokemon in the set, this trainer-less Pokemon has a constant stream of status effects it can set up to keep chipping away at your opponent’s Active Pokemon. Scalding Steam lets you give your opponent’s Active Pokemon the Burned status effect.
While you’re whittling your opponent’s HP down, you can use its Scorching Cyclone attack to deal a respectable 160 damage, though you have to swap an Energy from it to one of your Benched Pokemon upon resolution.
4
Salamence ex
Bench Striker
The Bench is often seen as a safe space in the Pokemon Trading Card Game, but that’s no longer true with Salamence ex in play. With the Wide Blast attack, Salamence ex deals 50 damage to each of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, though it leaves the Active Pokemon alone.
That is saved for Salamence ex’s Dragon Impact attack, which deals a staggering 300 damage. That’s more than enough damage to take out most other ex Pokemon in the game right now, though if you’re up against another Salamence ex, it’ll still be kicking around.
3
N’s Zoroark ex
A Versatile Attacker
One of the more unique ex cards in the set, N’s Zoroark ex has comes loaded with a few abilities that let you treat this Pokemon as a bit of a tool box for your game. Its Trade ability lets you discard a card from your hand to draw two new ones, which is great for crafting a hand when you’re low on options.
Then, Night Joker lets you pick an attack from one of your N’s Pokemon on your Bench and start swinging with that attack. There are some other neat N’s Pokemon in Journey Together, so your options are fairly varied.
2
Hop’s Zacian ex
A 1-2 Punch
This Basic ex Pokemon is a fantastic addition to any Steel-type decks, letting you quickly dish out some early-game damage and then unleash a massive attack a few turns in. With Hop’s Zacian ex’s Insta-Strike attack, you deal 30 damage to one of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, which isn’t huge but can be impactful early enough.
Once you hit four Energy with Hop’s Zacian ex, you can move on to Brave Slash, a massively powerful attack that deals 240 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon, though it can’t be used two turns in a row.
1
Lillie’s Clefairy ex
Dragons Beware
An absolutely fascinating card from Journey Together, Lillie’s Clefairy ex spells doom for any of your opponent’s Dragon-type Pokemon, thanks to a weird new ability. This Clefairy ex’s Fairy Zone ability swaps the weakness of your opponent’s Dragon Pokemon to Psychic, making them take twice as much damage from their attacks.
This is almost like the game bringing Fairy-types back to the game without having to force a new typing. Now that those Dragons are weak to Psychic Pokemon, Clefairy ex can dish out a potential total of 220 damage, assuming both players have full Benches each.
