Mere days following its first reveal anniversary, MindsEye was treated to a release date: June 10. A physical release has been confirmed for the console versions of the upcoming action adventure. The release date announcement arrived alongside a new trailer, which served as yet another showcase of MindsEye‘s sci-fi setting and GTA-like gameplay.
New MindsEye Trailer Highlights Cyberpunkesque Redrock City
The new promo video offers a brief overview of Redrock City, a cyberpunkesque desert metropolis in which MindsEye takes place. It also serves to introduce several characters important to the game’s plot, including eccentric tech mogul Marco Silva, who has ambitions to influence the course of human evolution while using Redrock City as his testing ground for doing so.
Another character seen in the trailer is Redrock mayor Shiva Vega, who is described as a power-hungry politician. The video also features MindsEye protagonist Jacob Diaz, a mysterious and decisively deadly individual in search of answers about his past. Jacob’s quest will see him butt heads with both big tech and government, leading him to uncover the tenuous relationship between these two powers pulling Redrock City’s strings.
MindsEye Announces Compelling Pre-Order Incentives
Anyone who pre-orders MindsEye will be eligible for a free Deluxe Edition Upgrade, IOI Partners and Build A Rocket Boy have announced. While it’s unclear how much this DLC will be priced at post-launch, its contents are already known, and include two cosmetic packs with skins for the Silva Sedan car, DC2 companion drone, and Jacob’s vest. A unique skin for the Thorn & Kepler Yellowjacket assault rifle will also be part of the package, together with extra seasonal content and access to the “Horde Mode” mission, where players will get to face a varied assortment of enemy mobs. Build A Rocket Boy previously described MindsEye as a AAA game playable within its upcoming GTA rival Everywhere. How exactly that will work remains to be seen.
