Riot Games 2XKO Alpha Lab 2 – new champion and ranked lobbies

Announced through a YouTube video, the game developers have unveiled the gameplay changes since last year’s Alpha Lab 1. Players will have the chance to try them out on April 18-20.

For the first time ever, Jinx will be available to play. She will join the likes of Braum, Ekko, Yasuo, Darius, Ahri, and Illaoi.

Compared to the first play test, Riot has introduced two new fuses: Sidekick Fuse, which grants the active champion a health and defense boost but will prevent the assist champion from switching places. The other, the Juggernaut Fuse, removes the assist champion and offers his bonuses and buffs to the active one. Additionally, Pulse Fuse has been removed and will be replaced with the Pulse Combo setting. New skins are also set to be revealed during the event, alongside battle passes.

Alpha Lab 2 will also focus on Ranked lobbies, climbing the ranks just like in other Riot game titles. In 2XKO, the ranks are as follows (in order):

  • Aspirant
  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grandmaster
  • Challenger

How to Join the 2XKO Alpha Lab 2

For those who want to test out the game, Riot Games allows you to register on their website and get a chance to be invited. All those who were part of Alpha Lab 1 will be automatically signed up for the upcoming Alpha Lab 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

That said, this won’t guarantee an invite, and it will only be available for players residing in the United States, Canada, and Brazil. Riot developers have stated there will be a bigger playtest soon to its official launch date.
