inZoi, one of Steam’s most wishlisted games, has patched out the potential to run over children after a video of the ability to do so went viral overnight.
Calling it an “unintended bug,” developer and publisher Krafton said it is no longer possible to commit any such acts moving forward. In a statement to IGN, Krafton said the following:
“These depictions are highly inappropriate and do not reflect the intent and values of inZOI. We understand the seriousness of this matter and age-appropriate content, and we are strengthening our internal review processes to prevent similar incidents in the future.”
Originally, videos of being able to run over children circulated on Reddit, with players immediately noting that it was likely not an intentional feature. Regardless, it’s no longer possible.

Kids Have Historically Been Off Limits
While there are no shortage of games that let you play as a child or teenager, some of which have violent actions that can and have happened, kids as NPCs have largely been off limits, at least, historically speaking.
So, while Ellie is 14 years old in The Last of Us: Left Behind, and can be killed or kill others, the inverse is typically not possible in open world games. For example, Grand Theft Auto has never had children in its open world for very obvious reasons.
And though Cyberpunk 2077 did have kids in the open world, it wasn’t possible to physically do harm to them. Attempting to shoot a child NPC or run them over was simply not possible, with the action being blocked.
All of that is to say that Krafton is simply following the precedent set by past games when it comes to the existence of children. That won’t stop mods from being created, but it does ensure that, at a base level, the game will not allow any violence against children.
