Summary
- Square Enix has added another Kingdom Hearts character to its Form-Ism figure collection.
- Pre-orders are now open for its Riku figure through the Japanese Square Enix store.
- The design is based on Riku’s look in Kingdom Hearts 2, just like the Sora Form-Ism figure.
Square Enix kicked off a new line of Form-Ism action figures in 2023 featuring characters from some of its best-loved series. However, it took until 2024 for the studio to add a Kingdom Hearts character to the collection. Three months into 2025, it’s about to get another.
Revealed this week, with pre-orders already available in Japan, is Square’s new Riku Form-Ism figure. Based on the iconic character’s look in Kingdom Hearts 2, much like the Sora figure that came before it, Riku is striking what Square calls a “fearless pose”, the keyblade he wields in the sequel held behind him, making it look like he’s preparing to strike.

Square’s Riku Form-Ism figure is already available to pre-order through the studio’s Japanese store and costs 7,480 yen ($50). However, it isn’t expected to ship until August 30, 2025. There are ways you can get the new figure shipped outside of Japan, but the cost of getting your Riku sent overseas will bump the final price up quite a bit.
Square Has Doubled Its Kingdom Hearts Form-Ism Collection
Happy Anniversary, Kingdom Hearts Fans
Unfortunately, you may have to resort to buying the figure from Japan if you want it any time soon. Despite being revealed five months ago, there’s still no sign of the Sora Form-Ism figure in the US Square Enix store. A little odd as Square tends to release Japan-exclusive stock in its other stores pretty quickly after making it available in Japan. It’s hard to imagine a reasonably priced Sora figure didn’t sell well enough to warrant that happening.
Square’s other Form-Ism figures have been released in the US and elsewhere, so hopefully, Sora and Riku will eventually join them. 2B from Nier: Automata kicked off the collection in 2023. Along with other 2B Nier figures, Square also released its first Form-Ism scene figure which features Clive, Jill, and Joshua from Final Fantasy 16 gathered on and around some rocks.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Riku Form-Ism Figure
Square Enix has added a second Kingdom Hearts figure to its Form-Ism ranger – Riku. Just like the Sora figure, Riku’s Form-Ism addition is modeled after the character’s look in Kingdom Hearts 2. Riku is holding an action pose, his keyblade drawn and held above his head.
Today is the 23rd anniversary of the first Kingdom Hearts game’s release, a milestone that had some fans of the series hoping for more than just a new Form-Ism figure. It has been three years since Square revealed Kingdom Hearts 4, with very little mentioned about progress on its development since. You’d hope the studio would be ready to reveal a release date, or even a release window, sometime soon, but it has remained pretty much radio silent on the state of the next game in the series for a very long time.
