Every ability in every skill tree you can unlock in The First Berserker: Khazan explained.
As you progress, The Crevice will grow. A number of the residents have side missions associated with them, and some vital amenities will only unlock once you’ve completed them. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about your home away from home in the world of The First Berserker.
The Two Halves Of The Crevice
After you complete the Forgotten Temple section of the game, a large portal will appear in the center of The Crevice. This portal will ferry you between the Netherworld and Mortal World. All the living NPCs you recruit will reside in the Mortal World, while entities working with Charon reside in the Netherworld version. As the game progresses, different areas will open up in the different parts of The Crevice. Though similar, these locations do not mirror each other perfectly.

Residents Of The Crevice
The Crevice will become home to a number of adventurers as you work your way through each mission. Many of them will perform services that will make your life easier, while others are mainly there to provide you with side missions.

Corrupters’ Fortress |
The Blade Phantom is one of the first NPCs you’ll unlock. You will need to speak to them in order to unlock two separate side missions.
Oksana
Oksana will be the first person you’ll acquire for the Crevice. She’ll be waiting for you immediately after having completed the Trials Of The Frozen Mountain mission. Well, her and the Blade Phantom, I suppose. When you first acquire her, you’ll only be able to use her to turn your unwanted equipment into Lacrima. However, once you complete the Kaleido side-mission, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade your equipment. Both by increasing their level, and by adjusting their attributes.
In order to upgrade a piece of equipment’s level, you’ll need to have equipment of the same type that is a higher level. While adjusting the additional attributes is done by spending Lacrima. Every re-roll of each attribute will increase the cost of the next re-roll. You will be able to reset the re-roll cost by using the Wisdom Shard item.
Notably, Oksana is the only NPC who will appear in both versions of The Crevice.
Duimuk
Once you have completed the Forgotten Temple mission, Duimuk will set up shop in the Realm of the Living section of The Crevice. He will sell you a number of items and pieces of equipment. Notably, he will always have a Tear Summon Stone for sale, as well as a randomized selection of pieces of equipment associated with different equipment sets.
You can purchase generic equipment to sacrifice for equipment upgrades with Oksana.
Duimuk will also be the source of the Jar Enthusiasts side mission, which, itself, will help you unlock another citizen for The Crevice: Danjin. You’ll simply need to talk to him after you’ve completed the First Act of Revenge mission.
Daphrona
Daphrona will join alongside Duimuk once you’ve completed the Forgotten Temple mission. She will provide you a number of services: she’ll allow you to train against any enemy you’ve encountered, she’ll allow you to upgrade your Spirit of Advocacy, and she can Unleash Soulstones, which will allow you to improve your Lacrima gain or your health recovery by utilizing Soulstones you have shattered during missions.
The choice of gaining more health recovery or Lacrima is a binary decision and it cannot be reversed. I’d very strong recommend going for the health recovery, as Lacrima is abundant.
Danjin
Once you have completed the Jar Enthusiasts side mission, Danjin will join you in The Crevice. He runs a shop that is directly tethered to Jarlings. The more Jarlings you locate, the more items you’ll be able to purchase. The equipment he sells consists of jar-based headware. These pieces of equipment will increase your core stats. Additionally, you can purchase lanterns from Danjin. Most notable among them is clearly the Grave-Robbers Lantern, which indicate when you are near treasure.
Finally, Danjin will sell you rare crafting materials needed for crafting equipment sets. This is the only way to acquire these items outside of repeating boss battles. The materials update as you progress through the missions.
Qazumaka

Blacksmith’s Heirloom |
You’ll acquire Qazumaka by completing the Strange Stench mission. However, initially you won’t be able to utilize Qazumaka, you’ll need to complete the Blacksmith’s Heirloom side mission first. Thankfully, this side mission will be available the moment immediately after acquiring Qazumaka. Just speak to him to initiate it.
Much like Oksana, Qazumaka can break equipment down. However, instead of turning it into Lacrima, he will break it down into crafting components. You can then use these components to build new equipment. All new equipment will be your current level. The skills will be randomized. If you have the appropriate scrolls, you’ll also be able to build sets.
