Get ready to head for the enemy backline with these dive compositions in Marvel Rivals.

Poke compositions are usually filled with snipers, hit-scan characters, and other long-range heroes. The trick with these comps is to slowly wear down enemy defenses and then push forward once you’ve got an enemy or two eliminated. Here are the best poke compositions in Marvel Rivals.

10

Shield And Shoot

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Magneto, Doctor Strange

Duelist

The Punisher, Winter Soldier

Strategist

Rocket Raccoon, Luna Snow

While there are many ways to vary this comp slightly, this team composition comprises the basic idea behind any poke-based setup. You’ve got Magneto and Doctor Strange, who both have shields they can use to defend their team, while also having some mid-range attacks.

Behind them, you’ve got two duelists and two strategists who both have long-ranged attacks and healing abilities. The idea here is that, if your duelists are strong enough, they can easily pick off an opponent at range, allowing your team to easily push in without sustaining any damage.

Gamma Charged

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Doctor Strange, The Hulk

Duelist

Iron Man, Hawkeye

Strategist

Luna Snow, Invisible Woman

As is often the case, a team that’s running a Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Iron Man is going to have a great advantage thanks to their Gamme Charge team-up ability. Iron Man is a great poke duelist, and if he positions right, can be nearly unstoppable. Combine this with Hawkeye, and your enemy backline strategists are going to have to watch their step.

Combine this with Luna, who can put her Idol Aura on Iron Man, thus focusing her healing on her vanguards, and the Invisible Woman, who can use shields to protect Hawkeye, and you’ve got a winning combination. Just be careful not to block Hawkeye’s view with too many shields.

Asgardian Rivals

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Thor

Duelist

Hela, Storm

Strategist

Loki, Cloak & Dagger, Mantis

The Asgardian team-up ability is often underrated, but it does require a good Hela for it to work. However, because Hela is a great poke hero, this setup is great for poke compositions. Combine this with Storm, who synergizes well with Thor, and you’ll be in good shape.

Thor isn’t really a full-on poke hero. In this comp, his main goal is to take space once Hela or Storm have secured a pick, supported by Mantis who can also play offensively. Cloak & Dagger can help keep an eye on fliers like Hela and Storm, while Loki’s Regeneration Pads can help sustain Thor on the ground.

Parker On Defense

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Peni Parker

Duelist

Hela, Moon Knight

Strategist

Cloak & Dagger, Loki, Luna Snow

This composition mainly works on defense, though it can technically work on offense too. The reason it’s best for defense, particularly on maps like Klyntar, is because you can easily position Peni’s nest in a place that’s hard to access for the other team.

Laying out the Bionic Spider Nest in a prime position can make sure that Peni stays up for a long time, and can solo defend the point. Meanwhile, Hela and Moon Knight can take surprising off-angles, supported by Cloak & Dagger and Luna. Loki can help keep Peni up, particularly with his Regeneration Pads.

6

Icy Mutants

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Magneto, Groot

Duelist

Namor, Scarlet Witch

Strategist

Luna Snow, Rocket Raccoon

Magneto and Groot are both great mid-range vanguards. They’re not necessarily going to be poking from afar, but with Scarlet Witch’s team-up ability, Mangeto’s melee and mid-range can prove deadly, allowing him to push forward nicely once picks are secured.

This comp is heavily reliant on Namor being able to secure a pick from afar, or at least supported by Scarlet Witch. If Namor can target backline strategists with his Monstro spawn and trident, this will allow Scarlet to play more aggressively, and subsequently, the rest of the team. Rocket is helpful here thanks to his team-up with Groot.

5

Guardians Support

Adam Warlock from Marvel Rivals' hero profile.

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Doctor Strange

Duelist

Squirrel Girl, The Punisher

Strategist

Adam Warlock, Mantis, Rocket Raccoon

Though not always the most-picked strategists, Adam Warlock and Mantis are great poke strategists who can play rather aggressively, provided they have Rocket to help round out the healing. Combine these two with Squirrel Girl and Punisher, and your team’s damage output is likely to be incredibly high.

Doctor Strange is helpful for this comp just because he has the biggest shield on offer in the game. However, you can also run Magneto if you’re more comfortable with him. Just make sure you have some defensive abilities on offer with your vanguard.

4

Poke Fliers

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

The Hulk or Thor

Duelist

Human Torch, Iron Man, Storm

Strategist

The Invisible Woman, Cloak & Dagger

This composition is a little more fun than it is meta, but can prove deadly in the right hands. Create a team with an all-flying duelist composition featuring the Human Torch, Iron Man, and Storm. Then, choose The Hulk or Thor to activate team-up abilities with either Iron Man or Storm.

Picking the Invisible Woman also helps empower Johnny Storm, and Cloak & Dagger helps heal fliers thanks to her aim forgiveness. Plus, she can use her bubbles to keep the vanguards up on the ground.

3

Turrets Galore

Namor in Marvel Rivals.

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Groot, Magneto

Duelist

Namor, The Punisher

Strategist

Luna Snow, Rocket Raccoon

This composition is mostly focused on its duelists, Namor and the Punisher. You can pick other strategists with this comp, but because Luna and Rocket can really empower these duelists, they’re preferable. Plus, Magneto can protect these two, as can Groot.

The trick here is to maximize damage output from Namor and The Punisher by doubling up their respective turrets (Monstro spawn for Namor). If combined with Rocket’s infinite ammo team-up, your team can easily outdo the other team just in terms of sheer force. This is essential for poke compositions, in which you’re mainly trying to bait out defensive abilities.

2

Doctor Strange At Range

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Doctor Strange

Duelist

Hawkeye, Hela

Strategist

Adam Warlock, Invisible Woman, Luna Snow

Hawkeye is not always in favor as a duelist hero, but if you’re good with him, he’s one of the ultimate poke heroes. Combine this with Hela, and you’ll be hearing that satisfying headshot ping throughout the match.

1

Domination Poke

Invisible Woman from Marvel Rivals hero profile.

Role

Heroes

Vanguard

Peni Parker, Groot

Duelist

The Punisher, Winter Soldier

Strategist

Rocket Raccoon, Invisible Woman

This last poke composition is ideal on domination maps, though poke is primarily played during convergence or convoy modes. If you’re able to secure the point early, place a bionic nest and strategic walls to seal off/defend exit and entry points to the center of the map.

From there, the Punisher can set up his turret on high ground with Rocket’s infinite ammo, which Winter Soldier can also take advantage of. Using the Invisible Woman’s psychic pull can move enemies out of position, and in range of poke damage, making this composition deadly against a lot of otherwise strong team comps.
