Assassin's Creed Hexe Reportedly Won't Release Until After The Black Flag Remake And Invictus

Summary

  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows may have only just launched, but there’s plenty more from the series to come.
  • Although Hexe looked like it was next in line, a reliable insider has claimed it might be pushed to 2027.
  • On top of that, it’s claimed that the Black Flag remake and multiplayer project will launch on Infinity before then.

A reliable gaming insider has shared some updates on the release windows for future Assassin’s Creed games and noted that Hexe won’t launch until after the rumoured Black Flag remake and Invictus.

Even though we only just got the biggest and most-anticipated Assassin’s Creed game of all time, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, just a few weeks ago, that hasn’t stopped us all from wondering what’s next for the series. That’s a natural thought, but it’s one that Ubisoft has clearly encouraged considering how many games it previously confirmed are in development.

The backlash was never going to make a dent.

Thanks to the 15th anniversary celebration, we know that there are a ton of projects in development for the Assassin’s Creed series, as both Shadows (then known as Red) and Hexe were revealed alongside Jade and the promise of more to come. With even more AC games leaking since then, you might be wondering when we can expect to see them all.

We’ll Reportedly Get The Black Flag Remake Before Assassin’s Creed Hexe

Shadows’ Multiple Delays Have Resulted In Some Pushbacks

If you, like me, were hoping that Assassin’s Creed Hexe was next in line to be released, you might want to hold that thought. Over on Twitter, reliable gaming leaker and Insider Gaming owner Tom Henderson commented on a post summing up everything we know about Hexe so far, most of which comes from Insider Gaming itself.

Henderson simply stated that Obsidian (the codename for the Black Flag remake) and Invictus (the multiplayer game) will launch on Infinity before Hexe does. When asked whether that means Hexe has a chance for next year or not, Henderson stated that the Shadows delay caused everything to be pushed back, and that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Hexe is saved for 2027.

Everything has been pushed back because of the Shadows delay. I don’t know the exact dates, but wouldn’t be surprised if Hexe ends up in 2027 to be honest. Obsidian was meant to be this year but maybe it makes sense to release later. Nothing confirmed, just spitballing. – Tom Henderson

Henderson also noted that the Black Flag remake, which has been rumoured to be in the works for quite some time, was originally planned to launch this year, but that it might make sense to be saved for later. It’s not clear where the Assassin’s Creed multiplayer game, codename Invictus, or the co-op mode for Shadows fall, but it does seem like Hexe is currently last in line.
