All Trader Locations In Atomfall (Mate's Rates Trophy)

The people of Atomfall don’t use a normal commerce system involving a form of currency. Instead, they all exchange goods in a bartering system. This means that if you want to buy things such as weapons, ammo, healing items, crafting recipes, skill books, or even Atomic Batteries, you’ll need to offer up something valuable if you want a successful trade.

Where To Find Every Trader In Atomfall

Atomfall Achievement Trophy Guide All Achievements Trophies-1

In each region of the quarantine zone, there will be at least one NPC who will trade items with you. Here’s where they all are:

Slatten Dale Trader Location

  • The very first trader you’ll hear about is named Molly Jowett. She’ll be camped out in Slatten Dale at the coordinates 26.4 E, 79.1 N on the map. She’ll have some good items like an Atomic Battery on offer, so she’s worth checking out.
  • In Slatten Dale, there’s an entrance that will take you into the Slate Mine Caves, located at 30.0 E, 73.5 N. Inside, you’ll find an old miner named Reg Stansfield, who will gladly trade his goods with you.

Wyndham Village Trader Location

  • Morris Wick operates the Village Shop, which is found at the coordinates 33.3 E, 79.9 N. He’s a little shady, but he has the crafting recipe for Painkillers, which could be a handy thing to have in combat.
  • The Bakery is next to the Village Shop at the coordinates 33.4 E, 80.2 N. It’s run by Iris Baxter, who will trade you all sorts of delicious baked goods that can recover health.
  • Alf Buckshaw runs the Grendel’s Head pub at 34.2, 79.3 N in the village. He doesn’t have much, but he does sell plenty of alcohol for crafting purposes.

Casterfell Woods Trader Location

  • Billy Gorse is an infected individual who seems to have somehow kept his wits about him. His camp is located a little northeast of the Logging Mill at the coordinates 21.5 E, 89.6 N. His inventory includes the Consumable Manual and the recipe to craft Poison Bombs.
  • Mother Jago is an important NPC found at The Old Mine, which is at 27.2 E, 92.2 N. She’s more of an important character that’s tied to one of the endings than a trader, but she will have the crafting recipe for Antidotes for sale.

Skethermoor Trader Location

  • Corporal “Bootsy” Hughes runs a trade outpost in Skethermoor at the coordinates 36.3 E, 76.2 N on the map. Despite being a Protocol soldier, he has some great items that he’ll trade with you, such as the Firearms Mastery Manual and the crafting recipe for Combat Stims.
  • Finally, there’s Nora Thorndike, who will be hiding in the cellar of her barn at the coordinates 41.8 E, 77.5 N. In addition to a bunch of healing items, she’ll also possess an Atomic Battery that she’ll be willing to part with.

To earn the Mate’s Rates achievement/trophy, you’ll just need to find Molly, Billy, Reg, Corporal Bootsy, and Nora.

How To Trade With NPCs In Atomfall

When you find these NPCs, all you need to do to trade with them is choose the Barter dialogue option when speaking with them. This will bring up the trade menu, where you can offer up your items in exchange for something you want from them. Some items will be more valuable than others, so you may need to trade multiple items or something valuable if you’re looking to get an item like an Atomic Battery.

Be sure to hang onto learned skill books and crafting recipes as those can be useful when trading. It’s a good idea to check back on traders because, throughout the game, they will get new stock. If you make a trade with an NPC that you regret, the NPC will usually hang onto items if you want to trade back. Just be careful, as there’s no guarantee that they’ll always have the same stock when you see them next.
