WWE 2K25 has brought many new elements and match types to the game. For the first time, female and male superstars can battle against each other in the same match. The roster is massive, meaning you can play some iconic matches with your favorite superstars and live out your WWE dream. The graphics, mechanics, and details are much improved over its predecessor, and there are many new match types as well.

For the first time, we have the Bloodline Rules Match, and there are new locations for the Backstage Brawls. Moreover, fan-favorite matches like the Royal Rumble and Gauntlet matches have gotten much smoother as well. With so many types of matches available to play in WWE 2K25, here are the best ones.

Tables, Ladders, And Chairs

Climb High, Crash Harder

Table, Ladders, and Chairs matches never get old in WWE. The main theme of this match is to capture the object hanging above the ring. It could be the money-in-the-bank case or any other object for that matter. The match has various modes where you can play out a 1v1 or have four or five superstars batting out for the prize.

TLC matches have been part of the WWE 2K series for a long time, and fans of the game love playing them. The fall from the ladder, slamming an opponent on a table, or beating someone with a chair never gets old.

Special Guest Referee

Fair Play Or Foul Tricks?

Special Guest Referee matches are an iconic part of the WWE universe. The main theme of the match is that a WWE superstar, who is part of the dispute, fills in as the referee of the match and is biased toward one wrestler. They try to favor the wrestler by not counting when they are pinned, fighting from their side, etc.

Although this match type isn’t entirely new, it has been expanded to 30 match types now. You can play the mode in 1v1, tag-team, gauntlet, and other matches. If the referee isn’t on your side, keep an eye on each of their moves, as they can attack you. Also, if the referee is refusing to count your pins, you can fight and hit the referee and take them on.

Brawl

No Ring, No Rules – Just Mayhem

The Brawl match is a replication of the many brawls that have happened in WWE. These brawls happen backstage where two or more wrestlers engage in a fight with no rules and no referees. Therefore, the only way to win a Brawl match in WWE 2K25 is by knocking out your opponent(s). You won’t have to use your hands and legs only since there are many props to use and beat your opponent with.

WWE 2K25 has two new brawl locations, which are the NXT parking lot and WWE Archives. The latter has a lot of Easter eggs, and you will be able to fight near Triple H’s throne and the Smackdown Fist. Also, you will be able to play a six-way, eight-way, and one-on-two handicap mode in Brawls.

Underground Match

The Underground matches are an inspiration from the underground fight clubs and have also featured on WWE TV for a short while. The match is held underground with no ring. The fighting area is surrounded by the audience, who keep cheering for the superstars.

The rules are similar to UFC, as you can only win by submission, knockout, or disqualification. To knock out your opponent, you have to keep beating them until their health comes in the danger zone. Afterward, you can play out your finishing move to knock them out. This match type surely gives a different flavor than typical ring matches.

The first person every WWE fan will think of after hearing the word ‘casket’ is The Undertaker. The casket match is inspired by him and can be very brutal and degrading. There are no countdowns or submissions. To win the match, you have to put your opponent in the casket and close it.

The game mode first appeared in WWE 2K24 and was received greatly by the fans. It is not a surprise that WWE 2K25 features it as well, with some additional balancing and detailing. If you haven’t played it yet, you are definitely missing out.

Gauntlet

The Toughest Test Of Endurance

Gauntlet is another one of the fan-favorite matches in WWE, and it features multiple wrestlers coming to the ring one by one and fighting until the last wrestler remains. This requires endurance, and you must use your finishers and special moves smartly, or you can gas out pretty quickly.

You will have to get the first pinfall or submit a wrestler to be declared the winner. The match can have as few as four and as many as 30 entrants filling up the ring and testing out their stamina and skills.

The Bloodline Rules match is inspired by the main event of WrestleMania 40, where Cody Rhoades finally dethroned the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. It was one of the most iconic matches of WWE history, and the fans couldn’t take their eyes off of it for even a second. The match saw the allies of Reigns coming out and attacking Cody, and then we had the allies of Cody rushing in to save him.

This is exactly how the Bloodline Rules match works in WWE 2K25. You and your opponent can both use three allies to join the fight at any moment of the match. The allies are NPCs and fight on their own. The run-ins and the kind of brawl that takes place in and outside the ring are what make this match unique and exhilarating to play.

Royal Rumble

No matter how many versions of WWE 2K are made, the Royal Rumble game mode will never get old. This match gives you the chance to earn your place in the Wrestlemania main event, which is the biggest match in WWE. The rules are simple: eliminate other wrestlers and be the last one remaining.

WWE 2K25 gives you the option to have both male and female superstars in the Royal Rumble at the same time, and you can have ten, 20, or 30 wrestlers joining the rumble. You can play it solo or with your friends, which is way more fun.
