Before Jin-Woo’s arrival, the South Korean Hunters took a major hit. Even after his attempts to save her, Hae-In’s condition is rapidly getting worse. Can Jin-Woo save her?
Upon his arrival at Jeju Island, Jin-Woo defeated the strongest enemy we have seen so far in Solo Leveling. He also healed the Hunters who were injured previously in battle. But his healing seems ineffective on Cha Hae-In. With every passing second, she is nearing death. Is there something Jin-Woo can do or is he truly out of options?

Despite only offering healing and utility, Healers are arguably the most important Hunter type. Here’s a closer look at their crucial role.
Cha Hae-In’s Fatal Condition, Explained
What happened to Cha Hae-In?
The Jeju Raid Party was divided into two groups. While the Japanese Hunters distracted the majority of the ants, the South Korean Hunters attacked the Ant Queen’s nest directly. Cha Hae-In and others were proceeding steadily. They eventually reached the nest and in a joint effort defeated the Queen. Chae Hae-In even delivered the last blow to the Queen, but before they could take a sigh of relief, another threat appeared that obliterated them.
The Ant King’s Dominance
The Ant King, who had already slayed numerous S-Rank Japanese Hunters, suddenly appeared. He realized that his Queen had been killed and targeted the Hunters. In a blink, he flew to Hae-In and struck her with so much intensity that she slammed into a wall. This knocked her out and gave her multiple internal injuries. The King also went on to attack other Hunters, and even killed Min Byung-Gyu, who was an S-Rank healer capable of healing Hae-In.
Jin-Woo’s Efforts Fail
When Jin-Woo arrived, he immediately healed the injured Hunters using potions. But when he used the same potion on Hae-In, it failed. Hae-In’s condition was too fatal, which made her HP drop to an extremely low level. The potion was incapable of healing someone so critically injured. After defeating the Ant King, Jin-Woo rushed to Hae-In only to find her condition worse. Her skin turned pale and her aura was becoming weaker rapidly.
As a last resort, Jin-Woo decided to use the Elixir of Life on her. Previously, he had used the legendary potion to cure his mother’s Eternal Sleep. But even the Elixir of Life failed because it only cured illnesses and not physical injuries.
Will Cha Hae-In Survive?
The following section contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Manhwa
The Elixir of Life’s failure made Jin-Woo wonder about other possible options. He could either use Shadow Exchange to transport Hae-In to a hospital back in Korea or ride on Kaisel as fast as possible. But either option wasn’t feasible. Shadow Exchange was still on cooldown as he used it to travel to Jeju Island and traveling on Kaisel would take too much time and possibly kill Hae-In. This left Shadow Extraction as Jin-Woo’s last option.
Shadow Extraction Saves Hae-In
In Chapter 104, Jin-Woo uses Shadow Extraction on the deceased body of Min Byung-Gyu. Min Byung-Gyu’s spirit initially refused the transformation as it deemed it immoral. But with Cha Hae-In’s life at stake, Jin-Woo forced him to. Upon transforming, Byung-Gyu’s shadow immediately healed Hae-In without Jin-Woo’s command. Baek Yoon-Ho was startled and angered by Jin-Woo’s action but at the same time requested him to treat his dead friend’s shadow rightfully.
Jin-Woo understood Yoon-Ho’s sentiments and terminated the shadow once Hae-In was healed. Proving once again that, despite the nature of his powers, his intentions are noble. While still unconscious, Hae-In’s life was finally out of danger.
