Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions For Varesa
If you want to get the most out of Varesa’s kit in Genshin Impact, you’ll have to use her in one of these teams.
However, just because she is good doesn’t always mean it’s worth spending your hard-earned Primogems, as several other DPS units in the game are also very powerful. If you’re one of those players still undecided on whether to pull for Varesa, this guide will help point you in the right direction.
Should You Pull For Varesa
Varesa is an Electro Catalyst user who primarily functions as a plunge DPS unit. This makes her quite unique since the only other characters in the game that can do that optimally are Xiao, Gaming, and Xianyun. Among these, Xiao and Gaming aren’t really meta units, while Xianyun is a healer.
While Hu Tao, Diluc, and a few others can function as a plunge DPS, that is not how they are intended to be played. The actual units who have plunge in their kits are quite limited.
You must understand that plunge attack has the highest damage scaling in the game, which means as a DPS, Varesa stands ahead of many others. Additionally, she is also quite self-sufficient, and several dedicated supports already exist in the game that can buff her up massively, making her a prime prospect when clearing the Spiral Abyss.
The Varesa Difference
Varesa is an Electro character, which means her team composition is extremely varied. She can work with characters like Iansan and Xianyun, who can massively boost her damage. Additionally, she can also run with Overloaded teams with Mavuika and Iansan, and considering the reaction is very strong, it makes Varesa quite valuable as a unit.
Finally, Varesa can also run with Aggravate teams since Electro and Dendro react exceptionally well, and she can fully utilize the likes of Nahida and Baizhu in a team. Aggravate scales exceptionally well as you invest in the characters, and because Varesa has very strong multipliers, you can use this team in all endgame content.
One of the best aspects about running Iansan with Varesa is that they complement each other very well. Iansan’s buffs rely on the active character being on the move continuously. Varesa is a character that either keeps running or doing plunging attacks, which means pairing her with Iansan is all you need to make a team work, regardless of the other two units.
Apart from Varesa being good from a combat point of view, exploration with her is also quite good. You can run around with her at breakneck speeds throughout Tevyat and outperform someone like Constellation One Yelan, one of the game’s best exploration characters.
As such, she offers variety and fun, making her quite worthy as a character and a powerful addition to your squad. There’s no doubt the current Genshin Impact meta favors the Nightsoul mechanic due to an emphasis on Natlan characters. This makes Varesa a very good investment for your Primogems, and alongside Mavuika, you will have two top-tier DPS characters who will help clear Spiral Abyss with ease.
Pull For The Character You Like
Varesa is a powerful unit, but you should also consider that if you don’t like the character, simply running after the meta isn’t worth it, especially if you’re free-to-play. In version 5.5, alongside Varesa, you can also pull for Xianyun, who is another really powerful unit, and she can work with several other characters.
For instance, you can run Hu Tao with Xianyun, where you can forget about the charged attacks and simply go for plunges, and that duo is incredibly powerful, especially when paired with someone like Furina. As such, if you strictly run after the meta as a free-to-play, eventually, you will burn out from the game since the strongest character keeps changing after every few patches.
If you have Mavuika and don’t want to pull for Varesa, that is perfectly fine. Even though Varesa is very strong, Mavuika is the best DPS in the game by a big margin, and it will take an exceptional unit to surpass her. Apart from that, units like Arlecchino, Neuvillette, and Clorinde are perfectly capable of clearing the Spiral Abyss, even though they don’t have the benefit of Nightsoul.
Power creep in a gacha game isn’t uncommon, and Genshin Impact isn’t immune to that concept. If you pull for what you like, then you will be able to have fun even if the character goes out of meta. However, if you are running after the meta, then not only will your investment skyrocket, but you may also start losing interest since the game doesn’t give enough Primogems where you to be able to afford multiple 5-star units across every patch.
