With Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition having such a massive world, you can bet it has a whole lot of missions for you to pick up as well. In fact, many of these quests lie off the beaten path, requiring you to delve deep into the may regions of the game, far from the safety of NLA.

You’ll need to defeat some tricky enemies if you want to recruit Neilnail in Xenoblade Chronicles X!
The Trading Floor is one of those missions. Unlike the majority of quests in the game which start back in NLA, the Trading Floor asks you to find it yourself by actually exploring. And it invovles the Nopon, so you just know there will be plenty of shady dealings to make a simple transaction more hassle than its worth.
How To Start The Trading Floor
The Trading Floor mission is not found in NLA, nor can it first be started by picking up a Basic Mission from Mission Control either. Instead, you have to find it yourself, and that requires traveling all the way into the heart of Oblivia into its north-east corner. The story itself won’t lead you here for a very long time, so it’s best to take it on earlier.
That said, you must first complete Chapter Three, Builders of a Legacy. This is the Chapter where both the Prone and Nopon are introduced, setting the stage for the events of the Trading Floor quest. With both of those completed, The Trading Floor quest will appear in Oblivia, already marked on the map. So head on over to meet some rather finance-minded Nopon.
Reaching The Meeting Point
After getting to Dorian’s Caravan in Oblivia, speak with Mumun to being the quest. You will learn that he is trading with the Prone, not out of exact want, but more for fear of retaliation if they don’t. That’s not to say he doesn’t enjoy the money, but it doesn’t soften the blow a bit.
Mumun speaks of his fear of the Prone turning on him, and so asks for you act as his bodyguards during the next trade to ensure his safety. Nice and easy. Except reaching the trade isn’t quite as simple. Head to the next objective, where you will meet the Prone who agree to allow humans into their camp for the sake of ther deal. However, this Prone does not guarantee the compliance of his allies.
And indeed, they do not. Despite this quest being only level 12, the enemies within the camp are all level 20 and above, and might prove challenging if you are at the level of the quest. Thankfully, the area seems purpose-built for you to avoid any encounters. Awaken your inner mountain goat and scale the cliff faces around you, jumping from edge to edge above the enemies’ heads. Provided you don’t drop right in front of them, you should be fairly easily able to get past them.
You can also use Elma’s Shadowrunner Art to turn invisible to run past all the enemies without being detected.
Once you do reach the Prone involved in the trade, you can rest easy as the hostile Prone shouldn’t come close enough to interfere.
Should You Fight Or Compromise With The Prone?
The Prone, being the invading villains that they are, claim that Mumun is cheating them, offering less Kiweggs than they agreed to, and that they should now give what is there for free, or somehow make up the difference immediately for no additional pay. At this point, you are presented with two choices – Fight and Compromise. Both change the flow of the quest from here on out, and it’s up to personal debate which is strictly better. Let’s check them both out.
-
Fight
If you choose to fight, you take down the Prone you were just negotiating with in battle. Thankfully, these Prone are at the level of the quest, rather than their surrounding comrades, and as such don’t pose much of a challenge.
After defeating them, Mumun will be disappointed that his income has been slashed, but thanks you all the same for defending him, though can give you nothing more than a paltry sum. Your reward in this scenario is just 3,000 EXP.
-
Compromise
If you choose to compromise, you offer to make up the difference of Kiweggs supposedly missing from the order. This comes up to another 14 Kiweggs. If you’re lucky, you may already have them. If not, you’ll have to gather them up now.
Kiweggs can all be found in the large lake surrounding Dorian’s Caravan where you picked up the quest. The areas they spawn will be marked, and the exact items will have a smaller objective marker over them as well. This shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to collect.
Return once you have collected all 14 Kiweggs by the same means you entered first, and hand them over. The deal is now completed, though the Prone still refuse to hand over any extra money beyond what was initially promised. Mumun is angered, but promises to keep trading in future anyway. Your portion of the reward amounts to 30,000 credits.
Beyond these rewards that are changed by your choice, there are a set of shared rewards that do not change. These are 150 EXP, the Nopon Tower VS Prone holofigure, and the Fearsome Devil Horns headpiece.
