When it comes to powerful families in One Piece, fans know that there aren’t too many in the world. Usually, One Piece carries the theme of found family, and this doesn’t just apply to the Straw Hat Pirates but also to the other pirate crews and organizations of the world. That said, it isn’t exactly accurate to say that there are no mighty blood families in the story.

One of the most powerful families in the One Piece world is the Monkey D. Family, all members of which are known to be extremely important. For large parts of the story, the Monkey D. Family was considered to be the strongest in the world, but now, Oda has revealed another family that rivals them and most likely also surpasses them. It is elements like these that spice up the final saga even more.

The strength of the Monkey D. Family in One Piece absolutely cannot be denied. Fans have seen them in action in the story on many occasions, and they’re absolutely mesmerizing even right now. Starting with Garp, who is known as the Legendary Hero of the Marines, fans know that he’s a powerhouse. In his prime days, Garp was known to be a rival to even the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. His strength was feared all across the seas and pirates considered him a demon itself. But, Garp isn’t in his prime anymore. Egghead saw Garp comment on his strength and openly exclaim that he’s gotten weaker, although even then, his display against the Blackbeard Pirates was absolutely immense.

Dragon, the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, is in his peak years right now and is undoubtedly very strong. Fans shouldn’t be surprised to know that Dragon is in the same league as the Yonko of the world, and given that he is rivaling the Celestial Dragons themselves, Dragon should be close to the top tiers in terms of strength.
Then, there is Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of the series, and of course, the man known as one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Luffy is strong, having recently beaten Kaido in Wano. However, he isn’t in his prime just yet.
The Figarland Family Replaces The Monkey D. Family As The Strongest Right Now
Garling And His Two Sons Form The Strongest Family In One Piece
Fans might be wondering how the Figarland family surpasses the Monkey D. Family at the moment and the answer to that isn’t too difficult. Starting with Garling Figarland, fans know that he’s a powerhouse. Known to be a Champion of God Valley where he clashed with legends, Garling is exceptionally powerful. On top of the strength that he possesses by himself, now, Garling is an Elder, meaning he can get access to immortality and other abilities that the Five Elders have. This makes him stronger than ever before and unlike Garp, the effects of age don’t matter to him anymore, meaning that right now, Garling is stronger than Garp.

Then, there are the two children of Garling Figarland, Shamrock and Shanks. As far as Shamrock’s powers go, fans have only seen a glimpse so far, but it is clear that he is portrayed to be stronger than Loki. Shamrock is a mighty powerful individual, and he should be in the same league as the Yonko. His Holy Knights are going to be clashing with Dragon’s Revolutionary Army, which also means that he could be relative to Dragon himself. Even if he isn’t, this would mean that there is a balance between the Monkey D. And the Figarland family, and the scales are tipped by none other than Shanks.

As things stand, the Figarland family has 2/3 members stronger than the Monkey D. Family at this point in time. In fact, even Shamrock might be stronger, and it is quite hard to tell since his true power cannot be predicted just yet.
Either way, at this point in time, the Figarland family has already trumped the Monkey D. Family as One Piece’s strongest.
