Yesterday, Marvel decided we had nothing better to do than spend five hours watching chairs slowly be revealed. And, unfortunately, it was right. As it slowly drip-fed the names of actors appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, including the return of most of the FoX-Men cast and Channing Tatum leaping right out of memes and onto our screens, we eagerly waited for the next reveal to drop.
But in revealing so many at once, right before Thunderbolts releases, Marvel may have inadvertently ruined its next movie to promote one coming out in 2026. There are two key spoilers these chairs seem to give away – one by their presence, and one by their absence.
Has Thunderbolts’ Big Twist Been Spoiled?
Of all the main cast in Thunderbolts, only one name was not featured in the gallery of chairs: Olga Kurylenko. Once best known for her role as the Bond girl Camille Montes in Quantum of Solace, Kurylenko joined the MCU in Black Widow, where she played Taskmaster. She is set to reprise that role in Thunderbolts, but probably never again – her no-show in Doomsday likely means she dies in Thunderbolts.
Some fans had guessed that from the trailer, but there’s another spoiler in this reveal – nobody else does. Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Lewis Pullman, Wyatt Russell, and Hannah John-Kamen are all set to appear in Doomsday, which suggests they make it through Thunderbolts unscathed. That’s less surprising for Pugh (one of the biggest names on Marvel’s books since its post-Endgame refresh) or Pullman (joining the universe as the hugely overpowered Sentry), but it did feel as though Harbour’s Red Guardian, John-Kamen’s Ghost, or Stan’s long-serving Bucky could have met a tragic fate in Thunderbolts to raise the stakes. Instead, those stakes have been flattened.
Major Names Not Included In Avengers: Doomsday
As well as Olga Kurylenko, there were several other established Marvel names who were not included in the cast for Doomsday, prompting questions as to where exactly they are. However, Marvel is reported set to announce more names in the future, so we may see them then.
