Lego's Rumored Death Star Set Will Reportedly Include More Than 9,000 Pieces

Summary

  • Another rumor has surfaced about Lego’s supposed Death Star set.
  • This one claims the unannounced set will be more than 9,000 pieces.
  • If true, it will be the fourth biggest Lego set of all time.

There have been rumors circulating suggesting that Lego has been working on an impressive new Lego Death Star set since 2024. Every time the Lego Death Star rumor mill starts turning again, something new about the set is potentially revealed. This time, it’s the piece count, and as you might expect from a set that will reportedly cost $1,000, it’s big.

An anonymous source has told the usually reliable Lego leaker Clay_Bricks (thanks, Brick Fanatics) that the upcoming Death Star set will consist of an almost unbelievable 9,019 pieces. If that’s accurate, and it seems likely, not only will the Death Star comfortably become the biggest Star Wars Lego set of all time, but it will be the fourth biggest Lego set ever, Star Wars or otherwise.

Lego’s Next Lord Of The Rings Set Has Finally Been Officially Revealed

The worst kept secret in Lego has finally been officially revealed.

Lego has a top ten detailing its biggest Lego sets ever ranked by piece count. If the Death Star set is real, and it really is 9,019 pieces, that list will need to be updated. If Lego wants to keep its ranking to a tight ten, then its Hogwarts Castle set will need to be removed from the top ten to make room for the Death Star. The Harry Potter set is currently in tenth position with 6,020 pieces.

Lego’s Rumored Death Star Set Could Be More Than 9,000 Pieces

That Would Make It The Fourth Biggest Lego Set Ever

There will only be three sets in Lego’s long history bigger than the Death Star, and only two of them are currently available to buy. One of them is the toy brick recreation of the Titanic which you can currently buy on the Lego store. The Titanic set is 9,090 pieces and can be yours right now in just a few short clicks for $679.99 – bargain!

Moving on up considerably in the brick count to number two on Lego’s list is the Eiffel Tower set. The Lego recreation of the iconic landmark is the only set you can buy today that is made up of more than 10,000 pieces. Only just at 10,001, but it still counts. The biggest Lego set of all time, an 11,000-piece world map, has been retired.

Even though the rumored Death Star will have to settle for fourth place if everything said about it turns out to be true, with a $999.99 price tag, it will have everything else beat in that department. The most recent leak about the set’s potential piece count also reaffirms a prior rumor claiming there will be around 40 Minifigures included with the set. Makes sense as you’ll need characters from every corner of the galaxy to fill that thing.
