inZOI is set to enter its early access period on Friday, March 28, and according to information posted to the FAQ in the game’s Discord server, it will run on the Steam Deck, but likely without Valve certification.
After the positive news that inZOI would be removing Denuvo ahead of its early access launch, it’s now been stated that the game “runs fine” on the best handheld gaming PC, even though you’ll need to adjust some settings.
While inZOI currently has an Unknown rating for Steam Deck, based on the information from the game’s official FAQ on its Discord server, this could very well become an Unsupported rating. However, like so many games without an official rating, the FAQ claims that the game “works fine, but you may need to adjust settings.”
The default graphics settings of a game need to work well on the handheld in order to get a Verified status. Some games get away with being downgraded to a Playable rating, but inZOI is almost certainly going to be Unsupported, as controller support will also be absent during the early access launch (all noted in the image above).
Valve is no stranger to Steam Deck rating controversy, with games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rainbow Six Siege recently showing up as Playable despite having anti-cheats that actively ban Linux users.
