How To Find Every Genbao Fort Daisho In Assassin's Creed Shadows

Your quest to hunt down every fort and castle in Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes you to the oft-overlooked Genbao Fort, as this small area is tucked away on a mountainside. While it might seem easier to use Yasuke’s powerful array of skills to slice through enemies, including the reinforcements who come with a wanted level, it takes a while.

Kameyama Castle’s large area is home to five Samurai Daisho and plenty of loot.

Instead, we’ll focus on a Naoe-centric run through this area, focusing on using our stealth abilities and tools to remain hidden and undetected rather than announcing our presence with clanging blades. Here’s how to find both Samurai Daisho and the Legendary Chest in Genabo Fort.

Where Is Genbao Fort?

Genbao Fort is tucked away in the northeastern area of Wakasa, on Mount Urchinakao.

The closest fast travel point is further than usual, with the Hikidan-jo Ruins to the southwest or the Tsuruga Kakurega to the northwest, which you should have unlocked if you completed Tsuruga Castle.

How To Find & Assassinate The First Samurai Daisho

Approach the fort from the southwest, where you’ll come to its relatively small outer gate.

This small entrance to the southwestern courtyard of the fort is largely inconsequential when it comes to Samurai Daisho, so you can choose to skip it if you’d like.

To enter the main northeastern section of the fort, use the wall along the outside to climb up into it through the broken fence. Move through the fence and take the northwestern path toward the hay bale and climb up the large tower beside it.

From this tower, you can see the first Samurai Daisho in the northeastern corner of the castle in a courtyard, and the second Samurai Daisho in the northwestern corner in the Genbao Tenshu.

For now, let’s stick to the first Samurai Daisho outside the Tenshu in the northeastern courtyard.

From the tower where you surveyed the prior area, you’ll spot two guards blocking your path toward the first Samurai Daisho. Here’s how to approach the situation:

  1. Take out the first guard closest to you near the guard tower.
  2. Drop outside the fort fence and climb back into it using the house in the southeastern corner of the main northeastern courtyard.
  3. From the top of this house, you’ll see one more guard patrolling around the Daisho.
  4. Take this guard out at either the northern or southern end of his path to make sure the Daisho doesn’t see.
  5. Once this guard is down, take out the Daisho.

There’s one last guard at the northeastern corner of this courtyard if you want to take him out too.

How To Find & Assassinate The Second Samurai Daisho

With the first Samurai Daisho down, you can fully focus on taking out the second one inside the Tenshu in the northwestern corner of the upper courtyard.

Enter the Tenshu from the first floor and take out the two guards at opposite ends of the room, then look at the second floor using Eagle Vision.

On the second floor of the Tenshu you’ll see the Second Samurai Daisho, surrounded by a worker and four other guards, so tread carefully as you approach. The best way to handle the situation is as follows:

  1. Quietly take out the worker.
  2. With the worker down, move onto the first guard outside the room.
  3. Next, quickly round the corner and take out the second guard outside the room.
  4. From here, you can make a noise with a Shinobi Bell or by swinging your weapon to lure the Daisho and his guard outside.
  5. Separate the Daisho and his guard and take each one out, starting with whichever one comes closer to you when they leave the room.
