While many castles and forts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows are optional segments that dangle legendary rewards as carrots to entice your interest, certain locations are part of main and side quests, like Fukuchiyama Castle. You’ll come across this castle during the Iron Hand assassination quest, as your final location if you’d prefer to clear out the castle then.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Genbao Fort Exploration Guide
Genbao Fort is small, with only two Samurai Daisho patrolling its courtyards.
The best way to get in and out of Fukuchiyama Castle (or any guarded location) without setting off the alarm is by using your stealth skills and tools as Naoe to avoid detection. You can use Yasuke’s powerful skills to cut through all the enemies in this location instead, but it will make Yasuke wanted and increase the reinforcements you’ll have to fight, so stick to the shadows.
Where Is Fukuchiyama Castle?
Fukuchiyama Castle is in the northern section of Tamba, southeast of Miyazu Bay and northwest of the Tamba Highlands.
The closest fast travel point (aside from the castle) is the Fukuchiyama Kakurega, slightly north of the castle.
How To Find & Assassinate The First Samurai Daisho
Approach Fukuchiyama Castle from the northern side, where you’ll see a small entry area outside the main entrance, manned by three guards.
Ignore the entrance and look to the right, where you’ll find a small segment of scaffolding that you can climb into a broken wall into the castle.
Scale the wall and survey this northern, outer section of the castle.
Directly south, maybe slightly southeast, you’ll spot the first Samurai Daisho’s icon in between two buildings near some bushes.
Kill the first guard in the small area near the wall where you entered, then creep through into the same northern courtyard that the Daisho is in. Here, you’ll find a second guard standing while the Daisho walks around patrolling.
When the Daisho walks away, whistle or throw a Shinobi Bell near the standing guard to get him to come over to the bush, then take him out.
When the first Samurai Daisho returns to take up his post, wait until he turns away, then assassinate him as well.
How To Find & Assassinate The Second Samurai Daisho
From the central section of the northern courtyard, move to the eastern side, avoiding the enemies along the outer ring.
When you get the chance to turn southward onto the eastern side of the main courtyard, do so, heading toward the Fukuchiyama Tenshu.
Run up the rocks and the snowy buffer area to use your grappling hook to scale the wall into the main courtyard where the Tenshu is, and where you’ll find the second Samurai Daisho.
The second Samurai Daisho is inside the large Tenshu, so scale the wall to make your way up it. Make your way to the top, then jump through the open door near the top or the trapdoor on the roof.
Enter the Tenshu, and you’ll find the second Samurai Daisho on the floor directly below the one with the open door near the top.
Tread carefully down the stairs here.
At the bottom of the stairs, don’t move and turn your camera while crouching to see the second Samurai Daisho talking to another soldier.
Casually crouch and walk over and equip your tanto to double assassinate this pair.
How To Find & Assassinate The Third Samurai Daisho
From the second Samurai Daisho’s eastern side, head further west toward the middle of the central courtyard to find the third Samurai Daisho.
Navigate to the center via rooftops and perimeter walls to keep out of sight of any guards.
You’ll see the third Daisho talking to a subordinate with a third person watching from the porch of a nearby building.
Take out the onlooker, then quietly approach the Daisho and the other guard to double assassinate them, clearing out the area.
How To Find & Assassinate The Fourth Samurai Daisho
From the central courtyard, go directly south toward the southernmost section of the castle, where you’ll find the fourth Samurai Daisho wandering through the courtyard with a few other guards.
In this small courtyard, three guards surround the Daisho, with two in front of him when he stops, and another next to him at the opposite end of his patrol.
To silently kill the fourth Samurai Daisho, the best thing to do is ignore the two guards in front of the Daisho.
Get to the roof adjacent to the guard in the southern area near the outer wall, who can see the Daisho patrolling.
Kill the guard here when the Daisho walks away from them, then quickly crouch over and kill the fourth Samurai Daisho while he’s behind the supplies, shielding him from the other two guards in the area.
If you want to take out the other two guards, creep up behind the one who was nearest the Daisho first, then get the one further away who is fidgeting with something.
How To Find & Assassinate The Fifth Samurai Daisho
From the southernmost courtyard, go northwest back toward the main central area of the castle. On the westernmost side of this central area, you’ll find the fifth and final Samurai Daisho.
Scale the roofs, then jump down into the small trench areas separating the courtyards to get to the western section. Get onto the roof of the easternmost building to get a better look at the last Daisho and the area.
Luckily, this final Daisho is the easiest yet, as he only has one other enemy sitting in the courtyard with him.
To take this last Daisho out silently, wait for him to walk away from the guard, and as he does, assassinate the guard.
Quickly crouch walk to the Daisho as he starts walking away and finish him off to unlock the area’s Legendary Chest.
What Rewards Do You Get From Fukuchiyama Castle?
