Hunt down the Takahashi Clan and decide to spare or kill Ichi-Hime.

They are scattered throughout mainland Japan, which might make them a little tough to find. Doing this quest could be worth your time, because the rewards you get may make the game easier to play. To get your bearings right, this guide will show you where all the crests are.

How To Start A Collection Of Crests Quest

This mission won’t open up till you meet Yasuke again in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. You reach this quest after you’ve attempted to assassinate Oda Nobunaga as Naoe. Once you’ve completed this mission, you can take control of Yasuke.

To start this quest, you must head to Kyoto in Yamashiro. In Kyoto, the Quest Giver will be located in the southern region of the city. Just go southeast of Honnoji Temple, and you’ll meet Yaskue’s old ally, Ota Gyuichi, in one of the houses.

You have to be playing as Yasuke for this mission, as it’s tied to his backstory.

After the lengthy cut scene, you’ll find out he needs the crests to write historical accounts of all the factions in Japan. He will ask you for a favor in finding them all. When you succeed, the reward you get will justify the challenge.

How To Find All The Crests

Assassins Creed Shadows Yaskue in the rain looking at a dog. There are two people in the distance.

When you learn that Ota needs crests, you’ll find there are a total of nine of them. For the next part, you’ll have to go off the beaten path to locate them all since the game doesn’t point you in any direction.

Before going on, it’s worth mentioning that most of these crests are in high-level areas such as Uda Matsuyama Castle. So, it would be a good idea to level up and get strong enough gear to defend yourself. Yaskue may be more of a tank character, but he can still get cut down if he’s not kitted up well.

Some of the crests will be blocked off, making them nearly impossible to reach. You can also find out below how to access each crest once you’ve found them.

Crest 1 – Oda Clan Kamon

This crest will be located at the base of a tower in the Fukushima Ruins in Osaka. The ruins will be west of Osaka Castle and slightly north of Nishinomaru Garden.

When you reach the tower, the entrance will be blocked off. Simply push the large crate at the entrance, and you’ll be able to go in. The chest holding the crest will be directly to your left.

Crest 2 – Tsutsui Clan Kamon

For the second crest, you’ll need to be in the northwestern section of Yamato. As you head there, make your way to Koriyama. It’ll be east of the Lost Hills.

At Koriyama Castle, make your way to the main tower. It should be located in the back of the fort. If you’re having a hard time finding the tower, look for the sole viewpoint in the area. That’s where you’ll need to be.

Once you’ve reached the tower, stay at the base and look for the entrance; it’ll be located on the northwestern side of the building. When you enter the tower, the crest should be in front of you, beside some stairs.

However, it’ll also be blocked. Just move the crate, and you’ll get to the crest.

Crest 3 – Akiyama Clan Kamon

By staying in Yamato, head eastward to and then Uda Matsuyama Castle. The castle will be south of Uda Rice Storage.

From the castle, head to the viewpoint in the southern section of the base. When you’re there, you’ll be greeted by another tower. This time, climb up it.

Don’t go to the very top; just climb up to the last platform. Once you drop onto the platform and enter the large room, there may be enemies on the left. Take care of them first.

Then, on the opposite side of the enemies, a crate blocking the crest will be there. Simply move the crate to the left.

Crest 4 – Akechi Clan Kamon

This crest will be located in The Great Keep of Sakamoto Castle. The castle will be located on Lake Biwa, southwest of Mount Hiei and northwest of Hills of Meeting.

Obtaining this crest is straightforward but hard at the same time. When you arrive at the tower where the viewpoint is, head inside and go upward. However, be warned, the base is crawling with enemies. So, dispatch them as you ascend the tower.

When you climb the final set of stairs, the fourth crest will be in front of those stairs. Just turn around once you reach the top and move the crate out of the way.
