To defeat Sugar Riot and have a chance at the champion of the Cruiserweight division, you’ll need to adapt on the fly. Below, we’ll take a look at each of Sugar Riot’s attacks and mechanics, and how to avoid each of them.
Sugar Riot Raid Walkthrough
This fight is divided into three different phases, and Sugar Riot will use different mechanics in each, starting with her normal phase.
The edge of the arena is covered in an AoE that deals high damage if you step in it. Keep this in mind for the duration of the fight.
Normal Phase
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Mousse Mural |
Roomwide AoE |
Deals damage to the entire party. Recover with AoE healing. |
Single Style |
AoE |
Paints a random symbol that then performs an attack. Bomb: Explodes in the indicated area, dealing damage in a large AoE. Winged Bomb: Drops in the indicated area, then flies to the opposite side of the arena before exploding. Arrow: Shoots line AoEs from the indicated spots around the arena. Targeted Arrow: Draws all arrow line AoEs to the target in the center, creating safe areas on edges adjacent to the arrows. |
Pudding Party |
Continuous Stack Marker |
Targets a random player with a Continuous Stack Marker. Group up with the targeted player, then stay there for the duration of the attack. |
Color Riot |
Double Tankbuster |
Deals high damage in an area surrounding both Tanks. The Tanks should spread out from each other and other players to avoid overlapping these. |
Double Style |
AoE |
After the Desert Landscape Phase, Double Style will paint two symbols at a time, combining their effects. Which two symbols Sugar Riot paints is random, so look carefully to see the symbols and then move accordingly to avoid their AoEs. |
After using each of these attacks, Sugar Riot will cast Sugarscape, transforming the arena into a desert landscape, or river landscape, if desert landscape has already occurred.
Desert Landscape Phase
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Layer – Sun |
Debuff |
Sugar Riot will add a sun to the landscape, inflicting the Sweltering debuff, which deals damage over time and can’t be removed. |
Layer – Cacti |
AoEs |
Groups of cacti will grow around the arena, exploding when they reach their maximum size. Watch as each group of cacti grows and move accordingly to avoid their AoEs. |
Layer – Sinkhole |
AoE |
Sugar Riot will create a sinkhole near the center of the arena, with small safe spots at the corners of the arena. If you fall into the skinhole, you’ll be killed after a few seconds, so be sure to run to the corners. After the initial sinkhole, a second one will appear closer to one edge of the arena. At the same time, more cacti will begin to pop up. Avoid the sinkhole’s side of the arena as you dodge the cacti AoEs. |
Mousse Touch-up |
AoE Markers |
Targets all players with an AoE Marker. Spread out to avoid overlapping these. |
Sugar Riot will cast Mousse Mural to end this phase, returning to her normal state and using the same attacks as before.
River Landscape Phase
After the desert landscape phase, Sugar Riot will eventually use Sugarscape again, this time painting a river landscape, creating three landmasses divided by a river, but connected with bridges. Stepping into the water will grant Fire Resistance Up and Lightning Resistance Down.
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Taste of Thunder |
AoE Markers |
Targets all players with Lightning-aspected AoE Markers. Spread out from each other, but don’t be in the river when the AoE resolves, as you’ll take much more damage. |
Taste of Fire |
Double Stack Markers |
Targets two players with Fire-aspected Stack Markers. Split into two groups and stack with each of the targeted players, but be sure to do so in the river to reduce the damage of the attack. |
Layer – Rain |
AoEs |
Sugar Riot will add rain to the landscape, turning the river muddy, which will cause it to inflict the Dropsy debuff, dealing damage over time. Additionally, several random lightning strikes will occur, dealing damage in circle AoEs. |
Layer – Storm |
AoE |
Sugar Riot will add a lightning cloud to the landscape, creating a blue cloud above one of the landmasses. After a second, this will explode, dealing damage in a large AoE. Use the bridges to cross to one of the other pieces of land to avoid stepping into the muddy river. |
Sugar Riot will use Mousse Mural to end this phase, once again returning the arena to normal. She will then repeat each of her normal phase attacks as well as enter the desert landscape and river landscape phases until she is defeated.
