Firstly, I acknowledge that I am a huge fan of Assassins Creed due to being a huge history nerd, the historical settings above almost all other considerations makes each game hugely enjoyable to me.
That said, I am absolutely hooked on the game, it’s easily the most immersive game in the series for me and the gameplay is really enjoyable too. The story may be the weakest part of the game so far but is still good enough to propel me through the game.
In respect of the article, I’d agree with the writer, minimising the modern day animus stuff is the right move. I never liked it and always felt it dragged me out of the experience.
