High on Life is coming to Nintendo Switch, and it’ll be out very soon. As part of the March Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed that the popular 2022 first-person shooter from Squanch Games will launch on Nintendo Switch on May 6.

The comedic FPS launched in December 2022 for PC and Xbox, and was available at launch through Game Pass. It came to PS4 and PS5 in July 2023, and now it’s headed to Switch.

It’s not immediately clear what studio is handling the Switch port of High on Life, or if there are any Switch-specific features or content. We also don’t know if the Switch version will receive the High on Knife DLC. The Switch 2 will play some Switch 1 games through backward compatibility, but it’s not clear if High on Life is a supported title.

High on Life features voices by Rick and Morty’s Justin Roiland, who founded Squanch Games. Roiland faced accusations of domestic violence; the charges were later dismissed–and Roiland left Squanch. More allegations arose in fall 2023 over Roiland reportedly engaging in sexually inappropriate contact with underage fans.

High on Life broke Xbox records when it launched in 2022, and now a TV adaptation is in the works with one of the game’s most hilarious voice actors, JB Smoove.

GameSpot’s High on Life review scored the game a 7/10. “The story, off-beat as it may be, is told incredibly well, with characters and moments I’ll be referencing for a while. Even if you’re not a fan of the kind of humor High On Life presents, the game that’s here is worth the trip,” we said.
