Thanks to board manufacturer Zotac, the cost of some Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards is now up to 20% more expensive than before. Updated pricing on the Zotac website reveals that the cost of its RTX 5090 graphics cards is now significantly higher, with no cards available at MSRP, and the most expensive now costing $2,999.99.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is now the best graphics card you can buy in terms of performance, but actually buying one hasn’t been easy for most gamers. Stock availability has been low since the January 30 launch date, with heightened demand for this new Nvidia flagship card leaving plenty of gamers without one disappointed.
The raised Zotac pricing caught the eye of Reddit user waldesnachtbrahms, who posted about it on the /r/nvidia subreddit. In the post, the Redditor shows that the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 AMP Extreme Infinity, the company’s most expensive RTX 5090 card, is now priced at $2,999.99, a 20% increase on the earlier market price of $2,499.99, and $1,000 more than Nvidia’s $1,999 MSRP.
Another image shows the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 Solid OC card, originally priced at a more affordable $2,261.69 according to Tom’s Hardware, is now priced 19% higher at $2,699.99. The standard Zotac Gaming RTX 5090, originally priced at MSRP, was reportedly no longer listed at all on the Zotac US store, suggesting that it has been fully withdrawn from sale.
Interestingly enough, the Zotac US store is currently showing as temporarily unavailable following the Reddit post and subsequent media interest, meaning none of these cards are currently available to purchase directly. That could suggest that the company is aware of the sensitivity around the price increases, although Zotac hasn’t commented publicly about the issue.
With RTX 5090 stock availability continuing to be so low, finding available GPUs at decent prices will continue to be a problem for gamers. Nvidia has suggested that RTX 5090 pricing will stabilize in the near future, including for MSRP-priced cards, with even RTX 5090 price drops in certain locations, though no stock is available. With any luck, we’ll be hoping to see a drop in prices across the board soon enough, not further increases.
