Since Atomfall is set in a post-disaster northern England, ammo and resources are scarce. While rusty pistols and shotguns will be easy to find in the early hours, getting ammo to go in those guns can be a big challenge.

Atomfall: Where To Use The Concrete Shelter Key
You’ll find the Concrete Shelter Key early on in Atomfall, but it’s unclear what it opens.
Therefore, you’ll need to head out into the world to get as much ammo as you can. There are a couple of reliable ways to get some, so that you don’t have to worry too much about using all of the bullets you’re carrying. Somehow, it seems enemies will always have more ammo than you when in fights.
Get Ammo From Traders
The most reliable way to get ammo is to get it from traders. You won’t be able to buy it from them. Instead, you’ll need to swap some items in your inventory for the ammo you need.
Traders’ inventories will change over time, so you can’t be sure they’ll be carrying the ammo you need at the time. You may need to speak to a few different traders to secure the ammo you’re after.
As with any trade in Atomfall, you’ll need to make sure that the value of the items you’re offering is equal to or greater than the value of the items you want.
One smart option when trading for ammo is to trade the ammo you need for ammo you’re currently carrying but don’t need. That’ll make the balance easy to achieve.
Looting
The other way to get ammo in Atomfall is less reliable. You will be able to loot it from bodies or from hidden places around the world. While you may find ammo boxes in corners of rooms, getting it by looting dead people is easier.
Whether you’ve killed them or just stumbled across their body, loot them and take any ammo they’re carrying. You should take any ammo they have, whether it’s the kind of ammo you’re after or not.
