A reliable gaming insider has suggested that Naughty Dog‘s next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, won’t release until 2027 at the very earliest.

Late last year at The Game Awards, we were all surprised with something that we’ve spent the last few years waiting for – the reveal of Naughty Dog’s next big game. While we only got a brief glimpse at Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and its sci-fi vibes, the trailer looked so good that many hoped it wouldn’t be too far off until it actually released.

It has been claimed that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will take inspiration from Elden Ring, and it won’t be the last.

Since that reveal, Naughty Dog has shared more and more information about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but everything that we’ve heard has made it seem like it’s definitely not coming until 2026 at the earliest. Well, that now seems like a rather generous estimation, as a reliable insider has claimed that it’s even further out.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Reportedly Won’t Launch Until 2027

Yesterday, CD Projekt Red confirmed that The Witcher 4 isn’t going to be releasing until 2027 at the very earliest, which didn’t come as too much of a surprise considering we only got a cinematic teaser at The Game Awards. It turns out that The Witcher 4 and Okami 2 aren’t the only reveals that are a ways off, though.

As pointed out by Redditor nolifebr on the PS5 subreddit, Bloomberg reporter and reliable gaming insider Jason Schreier recently commented on a Resetera thread discussing the news, where it was suggested that he’d previously claimed The Witcher and Intergalactic would be late-gen games.

In response, Schreier essentially confirmed that claim and noted that neither The Witcher 4 nor Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet would be released in 2026, making them 2027 games at the very earliest. That doesn’t come as a surprise for The Witcher, considering CD Projekt Red already confirmed as much, but there was some hope that Naughty Dog would rally for next year.

I’m pretty sure I said they were both going to be very early teases. Neither of those games will be out next year. – Jason Schreier

With that being said, it’s possible that both games could launch even later than that, as Schreier didn’t even say 2027 was the specific year. That’s just the earliest they might release, so it seems that both are still quite far off and unlikely to be coming in the near future.
