Blizzard recently revealed that its yearly convention, BlizzCon, will return in 2026, which could be particularly significant for fans of Overwatch 2.
The March 25 update brings balance adjustments to 11 heroes in 5v5 and 6v6 modes in Overwatch 2. Mauga received substantial ability nerfs with Cardiac Overdrive no longer offering damage reduction to allies and Berserker Passive’s Overhealth conversion rate. Mauga’s Cage Fight Ultimate also got nerfs, with the Ultimate’s cost being increased by 8% and Barrier health being reduced from 1500 HP to 1200 HP. Winston’s Ultimate received a similar nerf with his Ultimate cost increasing by 10%. Meanwhile, Zarya’s Energy Degeneration rate has been buffed from 2 to 2.5 per second, and Roadhog’s Take a Breather maximum healing has been increased from 400 to 450. Roadhog’s Ultimate cost has been reduced by 12%, so Roadhog mains should notice that the tank hero’s tools are reliable.
Some of Overwatch 2’s DPS and support heroes received numerous ability changes with nerfs and buffs. Peacekeeper’s primary falloff damage range increased from 20 to 25 meters, and her secondary fire damage increased from 45 to 50. Echo’s base health was reduced from 225 to 150, and his shield health was increased from 0 to 75. Sojourn received slight nerfs, with Power Slide’s cooldown being increased to 8 seconds and maximum duration being reduced to 1 second. To round out the DPS changes, Widowmaker received a slight buff with base health increasing to 225 HP. Ana and Juno were the only two support heroes that received changes with the update, with Ana’s Biotic Grenade cooldown and Juno’s Orbital Ray Ultimate cost being increased.
More balance and gameplay changes are expected in Overwatch 2 Season 16, which will introduce the new hero Freja. While testing out their favorite heroes in the latest update, Overwatch 2 players can observe various Freja teases in some of the game’s maps during Season 15.
