One Piece: Oda Sets Up One Piece’s Most Exciting Flashback Yet

This next flashback in One Piece has been heavily anticipated. It will change what fans know about Elbaf.

The Admirals are said to be the strongest military asset of the World Government, and that just goes to show how tremendous their might is. However, that most certainly doesn’t mean that their power is limitless. The Admirals are quite strong and most certainly among the top tiers of the world. However, they are certainly not at the top, and in a battle against the likes of the Yonko, they most certainly are inferior.

The Power Of The Admirals

  • The Admirals Possess Strong Devil Fruits
  • Their Haki Is Refined

When it comes to the powers of the Admirals, they are somewhat different from the elite pirates as they seem to be more reliant on their Devil Fruits than anything else. All of them somehow end up with overpowered Devil Fruits. For instance, Kuzan, the first Admiral that fans saw in the story, has the power of the Hie Hie no Mi, a very powerful Logia-type Devil Fruit. Similarly, Borsalino has the power of the Pika Pika no Mi, another overpowered Logia, while Sakazuki has access to the power of Magu Magu no Mi, the fruit with the offensive power of the highest order.

Be it a Yonko or a Navy Admiral, I will not run away anymore! — Luffy

After the timeskip, two more Admirals showed up, both with incredible Devil Fruit abilities that can be considered to be some of the strongest in the world. At the same time, the Daniels also have very powerful Haki, although it can be said that their Haki is far from being the strongest in the series. Their Observation Haki seems to be very refined, and as seen during Luffy’s clash against Kizaru, the Color of Arms was also on a very high level, strong enough to allow him to block Luffy’s Supreme King Haki-infused kick. That said, the Haki of the Admirals is, naturally, weaker than those who have mastered the Supreme King Haki.

The Admirals Fall One Step Too Short

There Are A Few Shortcomings When It Comes To The Admirals

Although the Admirals are very powerful and certainly impressive, they’re not the strongest in the world by any means. Fans know that the Admirals are in the same league as the Yonko and can hold out against them well enough, as seen when Luffy fought Kizaru, but ultimately, Luffy turned out to be stronger overall. Luffy isn’t even the strongest Yonko in One Piece, so that says a lot. The Admirals have a few shortcomings, and one of the biggest ones is the lack of Supreme King Haki.

The Yonko rule the New World like Kings! — Garp

So far, no Admiral in One Piece has displayed this power. This is a big factor when it comes to the power difference between the Yonko and the Admirals. The Fleet Admiral has shown the power of Supreme King Haki, which means Sakazuki could have it. But, from the Admirals, none seem to hold this ability.

Loki always has a bandage on. Could it be related to his powers in One Piece?

Similarly, the Admirals also seem to lack Devil Fruit awakening. Their fruits are very strong, so if awakened, they would be next-level powerful. However, none of the Admirals seem to have taken their fruits beyond their potential. This is the limit of the Admirals.

The Yonko Are Far Stronger In One Piece

Oda’s Portrayal Is Quite Clear

One Piece: The New Bounties Of The Yonko After Elbaf, Explained

When it comes to portrayal, Oda has clearly shown that the Admirals are comparable to the Yonko, but ultimately, not as strong. This is very well reflected in their 3 billion Cross Guild bounties. They are strong, but not as strong as the legendary figures of the world. The Yonko, especially those who have access to Supreme King Haki, are far higher than the Admirals, at least until they show Devil Fruit awakening. More than that, fans know that Oda has portrayed the Yonko to be stronger. For instance, Aramaki was sacred of Shanks in Wano, while a nerfed Luffy was able to take down Kizaru, and later, fight evenly against an Admiral and an Elder.

The New Yonko In One Piece

Similarly, an old and dying Whitebeard was able to take down Sakazuki, and that is also telling. Based on everything Oda has shown, the Admirals definitely have a limit, and in general, they’re as strong as the base level Yonko, and not the elite ones.
