With titles like The Binding of Issac: Rebirth and What the Fog constantly in my game rotation, it only makes sense that I’m on the lookout for the next roguelite to jump into. The never-ending nature means I have an excuse to play for hours upon hours at a time. Having already drummed up a load of excitement during Steam Next Fest, Asgard’s Fall has finally confirmed its early access release date. Taking advantage of a beautiful arcade-themed art style paired with multiple realms containing enemies inspired by Norse mythology, this RPG roguelite has already taken my breath away.
Set for 2026, it feels like the ful Asgard’s Fall release date is a lifetime away. Thankfully, after a successful demo period, Assemble Entertainment has just confirmed the game will be released via early access on Wednesday April 9 2025.
The RPG roguelite lets you choose a class – you can be either a Warrior, Huntress, or Seer – before embarking on a quest where you battle waves of mythological creatures and tackle tough boss battles. The brand-new trailer shows some pretty intense looking footage which makes it clear this is fast-paced game which requires a whole lot of strategy as well as luck being on your side.

As you traverse the four realms of Norse mythology, each with their own enemies and bosses to battle, you’ll be able to adjust your loadout with new weapons, abilities, and points to further your talent tree. If you’re looking for a chilled, laid-back gaming experience, like one our best relaxing games might offer you, Asgard’s Fall will not be it.
Alongside the early-access launch there’s a wave of new content, including 50 abilities to unlock as well as 44 runes to permanently increase your character’s strength.
If you can’t wait until the game is released in early access, the Asgard’s Fall demo is available over on Steam right now. When released on Wednesday April 9 2025, Asgard’s Fall will cost $6.99 / £6.99.
Otherwise, try some of the best RPG games or maybe the best roguelikes available right now.
