Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Get Wyvernsprouts

Monster Hunter Wilds features various items that can be used in just as many ways. Some can be obtained naturally through gameplay, while others may require some extra effort and knowledge of the world around you.

While exploring through Monster Hunter Wilds, items can be found almost everywhere you look. If they cannot be taken from the world, then they can come from monsters after they are hunted. While it can be simple, in most cases, some items need to have the right conditions met as time passes naturally. One of these items is the Wyvernsprout.

How to Get a Wyvernsprout

Rotten Carcas

A Wyvernsprout is a rare special item that can be used as a trading item with some vendors. To obtain it, you must first successfully kill any small monster. Through testing, the best monster to hunt for this item is a Ceratonoth, since they are always in large herds. This gives you multiple chances to get this item to spawn, since the spawn rates can be rare at times. They are most commonly found in the Windward Plains around Zone 8.

Upon killing a Ceratonoth, or any small monster, do not carve it immediately. About 5 or 6 minutes needs to pass in order for the Wyvernsprout to actually sprout from the corpse. Carving the corpse before that happens will remove the chance of the Wyvernsprout spawning. You will know the corpse has become rotten once its name changes to specify it as rotten along with a green skull next to the interact button.

The Wyvernsprout will typically sprout from the corpse’s head, and the body will start to develop this fuzzy-like coating around it, further signifying that it has gone rotten. If this does not occur, repeat the previous steps until this occurs.

Wyvernsprout Harvesting

Once you see the Wyvernsprout, simply interact with the sprout, and you will begin a unique animation while harvesting it. This item can be sold, but is more valuable for trading with Sekka if she has items you may be looking for on your journeys. This item is also required to be obtained once if anyone is looking to get the Explorer of the Eastland achievement.
