Marvel Rivals leaks are nothing new, and at this stage, we probably know somewhere between ten and 20 of the next characters who will be added to the game’s roster. However, merch for a character NetEase hasn’t even teased yet, let alone announced, is a level of leak even Rivals hadn’t experienced until now.
Hot Topic already has t-shirts dedicated to select heroes and villains on the Rivals roster, including Jeff, Squirrel Girl, Groot, and quite a few more. However, the design that has piqued players’ interest the most is Hot Topic’s Ultron t-shirt. Seeling Marvel merch with Ultron on it would be one thing, but this particular t-shirt is very deliberately branded as being a Marvel Rivals Ultron t-shirt.

Ultron is one of the many characters to have been leaked as an upcoming character for Rivals, so confirmation of that likely won’t come as a surprise to many of you. However, a first look at the supervillain’s in-game design being shown off by what I’m assuming is official merch before the character has been announced seems very odd.
Ultron Already Has Marvel Rivals Merch
Even Though He Hasn’t Been Given A Spot On The Roster
Even though the design on the t-shirt matches leaked looks at Ultron, there is something off about the Rivals t-shirt. For starters, the icon in the corner is Peni Parker’s. It’s possible that Ultron doesn’t have an icon yet since he hasn’t been added to the game, or it hasn’t been revealed since the character hasn’t been revealed. If that’s the case, why put him on a t-shirt at all?

Even though he hasn’t been revealed or even announced for Marvel Rivals yet, Ultron already has Marvel Rivals merch at Hot Topic. The t-shirt features what will presumably be the supervillain’s in-game design and may have confirmed Ultron will eventually come to Rivals.
This doesn’t appear to be a new thing either. Some have claimed the Ultron t-shirt has been available at Hot Topic on and off for a while. You’d think that if it was an unsanctioned move by the clothing store, NetEase or Marvel would have stepped in and demanded the t-shirt be removed from sale. Not only has that not happened, but you can still buy the t-shirt right now through the link in the box below.
Marvel Rivals season one ends on April 11 which means, if a new character is going to be introduced to kick off season two, we might know who that character is going to be any day now. You’d think since he already has merchandise that the next character will be Ultron. However, Rivals’ ongoing storyline strongly suggests the next playable character being added to the roster will be Blade. Perhaps Blade will kick things off, and Ultron will join him halfway through.
