Indiana Jones And Forza Horizon Beat Out Death Stranding 2 As PS5's Most Popular Pre-Orders

Summary

  • Xbox exclusives being ported to PS5 are currently PlayStation’s best-selling pre-orders.
  • Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 are outpacing all other upcoming games.
  • That includes the PS5 exclusive, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

Xbox committing to releasing its games on other platforms must have been a difficult decision to make. The continued rollout of its exclusives on PS5 will upset a lot of Xbox owners, but a quick look at PlayStation‘s top-selling pre-orders will help drown out those complaints.

April will be a big month for Xbox exclusives arriving on PS5 with Indiana Jones and The Great Circle arriving on the rival platform on April 17, and then Forza Horizon 5 following in the fictional archaeologist’s footsteps on April 29. The decision to release the Xbox exclusives on PS5 appears to have been a good one as those two games are the top two best-selling pre-orders on the PlayStation Store right now.

Everything you need to know about pre-ordering Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on PS5.

If you head to the PlayStation Store’s pre-order section, the games available are sorted by best-sellers as a default. That’s why The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 are the first two games you’ll see. Technically the first four since their premium editions are up there too. Perhaps expected for Indy since pre-orders only just went live, but it’s particularly impressive for Forza to be holding firm a month after its PS5 pre-orders first became available.

PS5 Owners Really Want Xbox Games

The Evidence Is Right Here, It’s Undeniable

If you check out some of the other most sought-after pre-orders on PS5 right now, that the top two slots are occupied by Xbox games becomes even more impressive. The First Berserker: Khazan is the third best-selling pre-order, unsurprising considering it launches tomorrow, and Death Stranding 2 is right after it.

Indy and Forza’s pre-orders outpacing Death Stranding 2’s is the most surprising part of all this. The Death Stranding sequel is a PlayStation exclusive, and considering the hype behind it following its release date reveal, you’d have thought it would be the best-selling unreleased game on PS5 right now. It seems, for now at least, PS5 owners are more interested in picking up a couple of incoming Xbox games.

If you weren’t already convinced that the PS5 Xbox port floodgates are well and truly open, this is unequivocal evidence that Xbox made the right decision. It has rolled the dice on making its exclusives available on other platforms, and clearly, people with PS5s want that. Evidence continues to surface suggesting Starfield will be ported to PS5 in the future, and if Indy and Forza’s pre-order sales are anything to go by, it now feels inevitable that we’ll be playing Halo games on PlayStation consoles sooner rather than later.
