The addition of Zero Build was revolutionary to Fortnite. While many players enjoyed key aspects of the game, such as its unique graphics and art style as well as its fun gimmick items and fun mechanics, they weren’t fans of building in their gameplay. Epic Games introduced the Simple Edit setting to Fortnite in an attempt to make building more accessible to everyone. However, there is no doubt that Simple Edit isn’t for everyone, and some might want to turn it off, and that is exactly what this guide shows how to do.
How to Turn Off Simple Edit in Fortnite
Simple Edit allows players to edit their structures in Fortnite without manually having to pick which panels they want to edit in or out of their build. Instead, the game will automatically do this by analyzing where the player’s cursor is aimed. While this sounds like a great way to simplify this feature, it can also be frustrating as it requires more precision when looking at the structure.
Epic Games wanted to push players to use Simple Edit and recently added a pop-up with an option to turn it on. Whether players did so on accident or willingly so they could try it out, they might’ve realized that it’s not for them and they’d rather play with Simple Edit off.
In Fortnite, there are a lot of ways for players to fully customize their gaming experience in the Settings Menu. Thankfully, Simple Edit is one of the options that they can freely toggle on and off. To turn off Simple Edit in Fortnite, players must open the Settings menu, select the Game tab, scroll down to Editing, and then switch Simple Editing from On to Off.
Gamers can change Simple Edit settings at any time and toggle it on and off whenever they please.
