How To Get All Endings In Atomfall

Atomfall is a game that puts player choice front and center. Your decisions influence how your playthrough plays out, from different outcomes to the game’s many Leads, to the method you choose to escape the Quarantine Zone. There are a total of six endings in Atomfall, all vastly different from one another when it comes to the tone, requirements, and how each final montage cutscene plays out.

To see every Atomfall ending, and get all ending achievements, players will have to complete multiple playthroughs and make different choices throughout the game. This guide explains exactly what players must do to earn all six Atomfall endings, alongside a brief list of steps you must take to efficiently earn your preferred Atomfall ending.

This guide contains major spoilers for all six endings in Atomfall, including specific details on the final endgame area within the Windscale Plant – you have been warned!

Captain Sims & Protocol Ending

How To Unlock The Protocol Ending

• Associated Achievement: Operation Atomfall

To get the Captain Sims ending, Atomfall players must gain the trust of Captain Sims to allow entry into various Protocol locations, such as the Skethermoor Prison. After entering Wyndham Village, either go to the Church or Bakery, learn about what happened in these locations, then report your findings to Captain Sims. Sims will be in the bandstand the first time you enter the village, but later on, you can talk to him within the Village Bunker.

After this, Sims will ask you to go to the prison and interrogate Dr. Garrow to find out how she turned off their machines. Go to the prison in Skethermoor, to the very back solitary confinement area, and find out what Dr. Garrow did. Report this to Captain Sims and you will find out an important Protocol Radio Part has been stolen from the village hall. Head to the Speaking Cave just to the east of the Druid Camp in Casterfell Woods to find it, then bring it back to Captain Sims.

After this, he will instruct you to initiate Operation Atomfall – a secret plan to destroy Oberon and obliterate the surrounding countryside. Go into the Windscale Plant and blow up Oberon, then return to Captain Sims to escape.

Unlock Captain Sims Ending Requirements – At A Glance

1. Gain Captain Sims’s trust by telling him about the Church murder (or other village intrigue, like the baker’s husband’s Infection)
2. Interrogate Dr. Garrow for information within Skethermoor Prison
3. Return to Captain Sims to learn that a radio part was stolen
4. Enter the Speaking Cave in Casterfell Woods to find the Radio Part
5. Return to the village hall and learn about Operation Atomfall
6. Destroy Oberon, then return to Captain Sims

Dr. Garrow Ending

How To Escape With Dr. Garrow

• Associated Achievement: Back Door

To get the Dr. Garrow ending, Atomfall players must find Dr. Garrow in the back of the Skethermoor Prison. If you are not friendly with Protocol, you will be shot practically on sight, so it’s a good idea to gain Captain Sims’ cooperation first. Head to the back of the prison, through the tunnels, to reach the solitary confinement area.

Talk to Dr. Garrow and promise to free her. Turn around and go into the Security room nearby to find her Signal Redirector. Use this to open the cells, after which Dr. Garrow will escape into the Interchange and lock the door behind her.

Escape the prison, where all guards will now be hostile, then make it back to the Interchange. Dr. Garrow will be located in the Central Processor room once she has been freed. Here, Dr. Garrow tells you to recover her research notes from the Robotics facility below. You must restore power to Data Store Bravo to access Robotics. Solve the Signal Redirector puzzles in Robotics, and avoid the hostile B.A.R.D. Robots, to find her research notes.

Return the notes to Garrow, then she will give you a keycard to access to a secret Data Store near the Casterfell Dam. Enter this area with the keycard she provides, then enter the command GEN ERA in the central terminal once you restore power. Return to Dr. Garrow, restore power to the Central Processor, then go into the Windscale Plant to destroy Oberon.

Once it is destroyed, return to Dr. Garrow to escape.

Unlock Dr. Garrow Ending Requirements – At A Glance

1. Find Dr. Garrow from the Protocol Prison in southwest Skethermoor. Become trusted by Captain Sims to gain uninhibited access to this area.
2. Take Dr. Garrow’s Signal Redirector from the Security Room, then free her.
3. Meet Dr. Garrow in the Central Processor of the Interchange
4. Find Dr. Garrow’s research notes in the Robotics facility below the Interchange
5. Activate code GEN ERA in the Casterfell Dam Data Store terminal
6. Destroy Oberon, then return to Dr. Garrow

Dr. Holder Ending

How To Escape With Dr. Holder

• Associated Achievement: Oubilette

To get the Dr. Holder ending, Atomfall players must ​​​​​​find Dr. Holder’s secret location. After you unlock access to the Medical wing of the Interchange (after powering Data Store Alpha), head inside and look for the Church Cellar Key. Bring this key to St. Katherine’s Church, then go down below to the church crypt. Open the Forgotten Cellar in a corner of the room to find Dr. Holder’s secret lab.

Here, Holder will ask you to recover Sample One, a piece of the organic material that Oberon contains at its core. He will give you his keycard, which allows access to the lower levels of the Medical facility. Head back to Medical and use the keycard to access lower Medical, then look for the Auditorium. Look for Sample One on the operating table in this operating theater – it looks like an Atomic Battery.

Bring this back to Dr. Holder, then go to the Central Processor in the Interchange. Dr. Holder will move here and give you the Toxin he developed to counter Oberon. Bring this into the Windscale Plant, once you power up the Central Processor, and use the Fire Safety System within the Oberon Dig Site to spray this toxic mixture directly into the heart of Oberon. Return to Dr. Holder to escape.

Unlock Dr. Holder Ending Requirements – At A Glance

1. Find the Church Cellar Key in the Medical area below the Interchange
2. Open the Forgotten Cellar below St. Katherine’s Church and be friendly to Dr. Holder
3. Retrieve Sample One from the lower area of Medical, which can only be accessed with Dr. Holder’s keycard
4. Return the sample to Dr. Holder, then go to the Central Processor after he says he will need some time to work
5. Spray the Toxin on Oberon, then return to Dr. Holder to escape.

Joyce Tanner Ending

How To Escape With Joyce Tanner

• Associated Achievement: Emergency Extraction

To get the Joyce Tanner ending, Atomfall players must find Joyce Tanner. There are two locations she could be in – by default, she is locked away in a secret Protocol bunker just southwest of the Old Mine, where you meet Mother Jago, in northern Casterfell Woods. But if you activate Data Store Charlie, she will move into this Data Store location within The Interchange.

Either way, restore power to Data Store Charlie, then talk to Joyce Tanner in this location. She will tell you to re-activate three Radio Towers in Casterfell Woods, Slatten Dale, and Skethermoor. Each Radio Tower can only be activated with a respective Radio Tower Keycard. The location of each Keycard is hinted at by a note taped to each terminal, and they are all located close to each Radio Tower.

Once all three have been activated, return to Joyce Tanner in Data Store Charlie, and Joyce Tanner will tell you of a secret Data Store near the Casterfell Dam that contains a terminal. Get into the Data Store, and activate the GEN MOVE command Tanner provides to you, then return to her location in Data Store Charlie.

She will tell you to recover a sample of Oberon. Head into the Windscale Plant (once you have powered the Central Processor), and either bring two Atomic Batteries or destroy the B.A.R.D. Robots in the Oberon Dig Site. Slot these into a special Sample Extractor area behind the upper control rooms in the Dig Site, pull the lever in the control room,

Pick up the ground-up Oberon sample from the grinder on the left, then return to Joyce Tanner to escape.

Unlock Joyce Tanner Ending Requirements – At A Glance

1. Meet Joyce Tanner in the secret protocol bunker just southeast of the Old Mine in northern Casterfell Woods.
   • You can also power up Data Store Charlie to move Tanner without meeting her in this location.
2. Power up The Interchange (specifically Data Store Charlie), then talk to Joyce Tanner when she moves to Charlie
3. Re-activate all three Radio Towers in Slatten Dale, Casterfell Woods, and Skethermoor
4. Activate command GEN MOVE in the Casterfell Dam Data Store
5. Return to Joyce Tanner, choose to continue trusting her, then head into the Windscale Plant
6. Extract a sample of Oberon, then return to Joyce Tanner

Mother Jago Ending

How To Escape With Mother Jago

• Associated Achievement: One With The Soil

To get the Mother Jago ending, Atomfall​​​​​​​ players must ​​​​​​​first find Mother Jago at the Old Mine in northeast Casterfell Woods. Here, she will ask you to recover her book from the Druid Camp to the far southwest. Go into the Druid Castle, pick up the Castle Key from the kitchen area, then open the secret door behind the fireplace to access a hidden chamber. Look on the right side of the room for a side room that contains both Mother Jago’s Book and the Strange Tonic Recipe.

Return the book to Mother Jago and she will ask if you want to escape all of this madness in the Quarantine Zone. Reply yes, then she will ask you to bring an Offering to the Speaking Cave. This location is found just to the east of the Druid Camp, just south of the Sewer Entrance in the middle of Casterfell Woods.

Druids will not be hostile to you while carrying the Offering. Find the altar, make the offering, then leave the Speaking Cave to find Mother Jago has moved to the Stone Circle just outside. Talk to her here, and she will tell you of a Growth Serum that can enhance and grow Oberon. You must make it to the lower levels of Medical (with Dr Holder’s Keycard) and look behind the Auditorium area to find a secret cave. This leads to the Medical Tunnels.

Explore the tunnels until you find the Growth Stimulant by a body deep in the caves – it looks like an Atomic Battery. You do not need to return to Mother Jago.

Once you have re-powered the Central Processor, go into the Windscale Plant and use the Fire Safety System in the Oberon Dig Site to spray Oberon with the growth serum. Escape the Windscale plant and run back to the Castle Ruins, to the pit below, and sacrifice yourself to The Voice In The Soil to “escape”.

1. Find Mother Jago in the Old Mine in north Casterfell Woods
2. Recover Mother Jago’s Book from the Druid Camp and Castle Ruins
3. Take the Offering to the Speaking Cave
4. Talk to Mother Jago again to learn of the Growth Supplement
5. Recover the Growth Supplement from the Medical Tunnels below the Interchange, which requires Dr Holder’s keycard
6. Feed Oberon with the Growth Serum, then return to the Castle Ruins pit

The Voice on the Phone Ending

How To Escape With The Voice On The Phone

• Associated Achievement: Do you require the Operator?

To get the Voice on the Phone ending, Atomfall​​​​​​​ players must simply answer the phone once at any point in their playthrough, then destroy Oberon at the end of the game. You can skip every telephone until you are just about to enter the Infection clouds at the beginning of the Windscale Plant.

Pick up the phone here, talk to the Voice On The Telephone, then consume a Strange Tonic and make your way into the Oberon Dig Site at the far end of the Windscale Plant. Destroy Oberon by arming all four emergency detonation devices, then return to the bunker where you started the game in south Slatten Dale to escape.

1. Pick up the phone at any point before entering the Windscale Plant, or the phone at the very start of this endgame area. You do not need to answer every phone.
2. Destroy Oberon, then return to the entry to Windscale to talk to the Voice On The Phone again
3. Return to the starting bunker in the south of Slatten Dale
