Clearing every castle and fort in Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes patience, especially if you’re approaching each area with a stealthy approach as Naoe. While Yasuke’s swords-out approach is fun and straightforward, it will be a long slog through several enemies and will end with Yasuke being made wanted, leading to more reinforcements in the area.

Five Samurai Daisho guard Yamazaki Castle’s treasure.
Instead of spamming Yasuke’s best early skills to slash your way through, we’ll show you how to silently assassinate each Samurai Daisho. Follow the way of the Shinobi as Naoe to silently make your way through Miyazu Castle without raising the alarm.
Where Is Miyazu Castle?
Miyazu Castle is in the northwestern section of Tamba, in Miyazu Bay.
The nearest fast travel point is the Miyazu Ship Mainmast in the northern section of the water, or Mount Akaiwa, south of the castle.
How To Find & Assassinate The First Samurai Daisho
Approach Miyazu Castle from the southwestern corner of the walls, near the bridge leading to the western shore.
Ignore the main entrance that’s guarded by a Samurai; instead, look toward the scaffolding that you can use to scale the wall slightly to the east.
Immediately, when you get to the top of the tower after scaling the scaffolding, look slightly east to spot the first Samurai Daisho patrolling a long southeastern corridor along with a few other enemies.
Cross over toward the first Daisho using the perimeter walls, then take up a perch in the dark elevated corner.
Use Shinobi Bells to lure the Samurai Daisho into the corner, then, when they’re far enough from the practicing soldiers, take them out and disappear back into the darkness.
How To Find & Assassinate The Second Samurai Daisho
With the first Daisho disposed of, look northwest across the water into another long courtyard toward the middle of the castle to spot the second Samurai Daisho.
Climb the scaffolding nearby and jump onto the perimeter wall where you’ll spot the Samurai Daisho and three other guards – two practicing and one patrolling.
The best way to handle the situation is to take the following steps:
- Sneak over to the eastern side of the courtyard via the perimeter walls.
- Drop into the bushes when the patrolling guard is near the Daisho.
- Wait for the patrolling guard to come over.
- Lure the guard closer with a Shinobi Bell, then assassinate them in the bush.
- Use a Shinobi Bell to lure one of the archers over to the bush to assassinate them too.
You can save and reload after killing the first patrolling enemy to put the rightmost archer into patrol mode in his stead.
Kill the second guard the same way as the first, standing up, then crouching while still in the bushes to get his attention if needed.
Sneak over to the crate across from the passage next to where the second Daisho and the final guard are practicing and lure the Daisho over with a Shinobi Bell, staying behind cover while you assassinate them to trigger the animation that pulls them back into cover with you.
Defeat the final guard who comes to investigate to clean up the area.
How To Find & Assassinate The Third Samurai Daisho
Next, scale the wall to the northwest and look into the verdant courtyard to the central-eastern section of the castle, where the third Samurai Daisho awaits.
Use the roofs and make your way across the courtyard to the building adjacent to the third Daisho.
When you reach the Daisho’s house, jump higher onto the roofs above the balcony next to you and eliminate the guard overlooking the courtyard. A Kunai to the head should do the trick.
With the guard eliminated, you should jump down and assassinate the Daisho, who may need to be finished off with a few more swings.
How To Find & Assassinate The Fourth Samurai Daisho
From the northern central courtyard of Miyazu Castle, head to the long northern path where you’ll find the fourth and final Samurai Daisho patrolling the area along with some other guards.
To kill the fourth Daisho silently, stalk his path until he makes his way to the western side of the courtyard, and as soon as he does, take the following steps:
- Kill the guard on the southwestern side of the courtyard who is watching the entrance.
- Hide in the bushes next to that spot and make your way toward the guard standing near this area.
- Once the Daisho walks away again, assassinate the guard near the bushes.
- Wait for the Daisho to return to the bush you’re hiding in, then assassinate them too.
This Daisho is very strong, so you may need to follow up with further hits to kill him, but keep the engagement in this section of the courtyard if needed, and no other guards will be alerted.
What Rewards Do You Get From Miyazu Castle?
With all four Samurai Daisho defeated, you have Miyazu Castle to yourself to plunder its sparkling treasures to your heart’s content.
Side Loot
Miyazu Castle has several side loot chests to acquire, in addition to a key with doors to unlock, which hold incredible treasures.
- Key: In a house along the northern pathway of the castle, you’ll find a guard with the key on him, near where you killed the fourth Daisho.
- First Door: In the central area of the northern section, where you find the key, you’ll find a locked door with a bundle of resources you can smuggle.
- Second & Third Doors: In the easternmost courtyard, you’ll find two locked doors heavily guarded by enemies. Inside are three chests, two batches of resources to smuggle, and one container of minerals.
-
Additional Loot:
- In the southern courtyard, across the fence from where you killed the first Daisho, is a small house with a bale of hay, a rare chest, and a ration chest in it.
- In the northern section across from the first locked door, there’s a small house with a chest in it, guarded by a single enemy. There’s another chest in the eastern section of this pathway.
- On the northeastern side of the central courtyard, in a house across from the Legendary Chest, is another small house with a chest inside.
- In the heavily guarded northeastern section, in the courtyard where guards are sparring and being watched, you’ll find a resource chest outside a house.
Legendary Chest
With the side loot out of the way, you can turn your attention to the main prize. You’ll find the Legendary Chest in the central courtyard of the castle near where you killed the third Samurai Daisho, in a small house protected by a lone guard.
Open the chest to earn the following:
- 3,000 exp
- An Engraving
- The Outfit of the Legendary Ronin for Yasuke
With that, you’ve completed Miyazu Castle and earned its best rewards.
